I was going to mention 'Bouncing Off The Satellites', but then I realized I have no idea what hardcore followers think about any of The B-52's albums.

No way, Frappers love 'Black Cherry'. I don't think the fans think any of their albums are failures or sellouts yet.

Madonna-American Life(though it's still not one of my favorites from her)
Motley Crue- Generation Swine(not perfect, but it has some good stuff)
Marilyn Manson- The Golden Age of Grotesque(very underrated)
Nine Inch Nails- With Teeth(I know alot of longtime fans who hated the album)
Moby-Hotel(Dont know why alot of people knocked on this album)

the 2nd did allright during the following months, but at first....

POP is an excellent album, I think Bono dislikes it more than his fans, he should really embrace that album and era.

Shakedown Street
Terrapin Station--The Grateful Dead. I think these would appeal to non-fans a lot, but hardcore fans don't seem to like them.

I'ma hardcore white stripes fan.... it's borderline. I like that album too though.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.
