[Edited 4/22/06 8:57am] LOL, all I can do is laugh after the many comments made about MJ in this thread. People need to learn about MJ before passing judgement. I flip the tables round and direct the negativity onto Malcom C, and suddenly everyone hits the roff. Think about it. [Edited 4/22/06 18:06pm]

[Edited 4/22/06 18:06pm] Umm, you flipped the tables by making an inaccurate and false statement about Malcolm X by which I corrected by stating a historical fact, for which you obviously knew nothing about. If you are going to flip tables, flip it with the truth and not with false statements for the sake of detering negativity towards someone else. If you feel people made comments about MJ that are not right, then you reply with the truth, that's all.

StoneCrib said: Oh, THAT'S an easy 1 - There's only ONE answer for that question:
I can even here Malcolm's speech about MJ: MALCOLM X ON MICHAEL JACKSON (In that haunting Malcolm X voice of his): Never has there ever been a more embarrassing "so-called Negro" such as this man. He's captivated by the white man's beauty and the white man's vices and the white man's women. His face alone is a disgrace to Africa and every African that died for him to have the right to be who he wants to be. Sadly he IS who wants to be. He sings for the white man. He dances for the white man. He wants to BE the white man. Yes. That same white man that enslaved our people and that continue to oppress our people to this very day. Yes. Our people. His people...or what he USED to claim as HIS people. Young Mr. Jackson needs to recognize the beauty of being black and all that is Black. Unfortunately...I say unfortunately, he no longer even recognizes himself. This does apply to Michael as he currently is and that is the sad aspect about the whole situation. I hope he eventually wakes up and gets his life together. Such a great talent and nobody will remember the good things that he has done only the bad things. So sad.

Truthfully,I don't think Malcolm would have liked Prince or Michael Jackson. He would have called them "sellouts" and would have cited several reasons for feeling this way...
***Michael---the skin bleachings, the plastic surgery, the fact that he got married twice, both times to a white woman. ***Prince---downplayed his "blackness" early in his career, had a White woman portray his mother in "Purple Rain",dated mostly non-Black women, had a mostly White band at the height of his popularity. No doubt,he probably would have also had problems with many of the other "crossover" Black artists (Lionel Richie,Tina Turner,Whitney Houston,Donna Summer, etc).

Actually you are ignorant of your history because if you knew your history, you would know that Malcolm X changed his perception on whites after his visit to Mecca, which caused a major friction between him and the Nation of Islam and served as one of a multitude of factors that led to his death. I think most of us on here need to read Malcolm's autobiography first before passing judgement on what he would or wouldn't have said about certain artists.
"The Autobiography of Malcolm X" by Alex Haley is the greatest book I have ever read. I just wish more people, especially my people, African Americans would turn off the dummy tube watching 50 cent and looking at women shake their naked behinds on BET and pick this book up and learn something about their history. Its a shame that kids nowadays only know who Martin Luther King, Jr. is...if that and don't even know who El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz is..or had a clue to what he stood up for and what he died for. [Edited 4/24/06 10:14am] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

...or even better: what would Malcolm think of white rap arists or white boybands in general? Oh he'd DOG out Eminem. Should I make up a Maclom speech for that occasion? MALCOLM X ON EMINEM: And then we have Eminem. The bastard son of Hip Hop and a trailer park somewhere in the Midwest. An outcast in the midst of outcasts. How did we let THIS happen? The man is reaping the rewards of a music genre created and sustained by the great people of Africa. The slap to our collective faces is that he profits more than some of our own from our own creation. But alas, this is the way it's always been for us, hasn't it? His speeches of him being subjected to "hard times" is a complete joke and yet another painful slap in the face of our people, for we all know that all he has to do is let his hair grow out, put on an Armani suit, and waltz into a wall street office and get hired on the spot. Oh, woe is Eminem and his hard life as a white man in America. We Africans cry a thousand rivers equal to the Nile for you, Mr. White Rapper.
