Bass Vocalist

We always give it up for the falsetto vocalist, lets hear it for the Bass Vocalist. List some of the Bass Vocalist and the song or songs they stand out on.

"Blue" Lovett of The Manhattans is one of the best bass voices in the business.
His dialogs on Am I Losing You, I Kinda Miss You come to mind.

But the one that immediately came to me was Benny Spellman who sang the bass part and hook on Ernie K. Doe's Mother-In-Law.
Not necessarily the greatest bass part but a seriously great hook.

Melvin Franklin
(top center)
His voice was gentle, yet powerful enough to make your chest rumble.

Raymond 'Stingray' Davis

Founding member of Parliament/Funkadelic

Probably, most famous for providing
the bass vocals on Parliament's
'Give Up The Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucka)
and George Clinton's 'Atomic Dog'.

Larry Graham

An alumnus of Sly and The Family Stone

and founder of Graham Central Station

J.J. Farley

Of the legendary Soul Stirrers
(in the middle on the left side)

Willie Ford

Of The Dramatics
(top left)

Credel 'Red' Jones

Of Chicago's own The Chi-Lites
(on the left side)

Willie Bobo

Of the Dixie Hummingbirds
(bottom right)
