Appreciation for Loose Ends/Top 5 One of the great R&B acts, certainly of the 80s, maybe ever.
Genius production by Carl MacIntosh and Nick Martinelli. Nobody else sounded like Loose Ends! They threw down in an era were there definitely was what one could term "Adult R&B". And you could be 20 and be into it. How times have changed! Songs like "Gonna Make You Mine" and "Hangin' on a String" changed my life. These records were everywhere you went in NYC in the mid-80s. You remember that deep-ass voice that came thru the airwaves and went "Double..U...B....L....SSSSS"? Ahh, yes, the era of Loose Ends! Does anyone here from the UK know what they are up to, in particular Carl MacIntosh? Has he been producing at all in the last 10 years? He did a couple of top-notch track from Caron Wheeler's UK Blak LP in '92. I have not seen his name anywhere since that time...? My top 5 songs: 1) Gonna Make You Mine 2) Hangin' on a String 3) Slow Down 4) Don't Be A Fool 5) Mr. Bachelor Favorite LPs: 1) Look How Long 2) Zagora Beautiful, beautiful stuff. | |
