Lauryn Hill Compared to Prince

Smokin' Grooves tour brings hip-hop back to concert

Lauryn Hill: The ex-Fugees frontwoman has yet to change her name to a symbol, but she has gotten more press for erratic behavior lately than Prince has gotten in any given year. Her new solo-acoustic CD, "MTV Unplugged No. 2," is filled with rambling, nonsensical rants, including moments where she claims to be talking to voices in her head. And when she's singing, she isn't much clearer, as the songs are unrefined and messy.

Wow. Those are some pretty harsh words for Lauryn Hill's latest work.

As Prince would say... this guy's review says a lot more about himself than it does about Lauryn Hill...

I hope he was just joking when he said Lauryn was talking to voices in her head. Because if he wasn't, he's an idiot. When Lauryn said she was talking to the voices in her head, she was making reference to the fact that someone was talking to her through the monitor in her ear and sometimes she would respond back to them out loud. But what's even more rediculous about this guys assertion is that Lauryn told everyone what she was doing. So this guy Chris Riemenschneider must be a complete IDIOT!

I for one think Lauryn Hill's MTV Unplugged is excellent. I think it's a very pure and true representation of where Laurn Hill is at in her life right now. It took a lot of nerve and guts for her to say some of the things she said, knowing full well that she would be analyzed and critqued by people like Chris Riemenschneider. I just pray he's not as dumb as he sounds.

Harlepolis

Why can't ppl give the sistah a god damn break and roll over?? Shit, thats her music, thats her voice and thats her god damn self she's getting PAIED anyway thats their ONLY CONCERN 'period' if they're talking about music then they're bullshitting cuz they don't know her music betta than herself. I remember back in the day when Prince complain about critics who bash his music, anyway he was saying how could they judge my music when they didn't even know how to play it or sing it,,sumthin like that(I know that somebody out there know what I'm talking about or know the EXACT qoute).

Critics don't know JACK about music, They compared Britney's last LP to Janet's 'Control' and say Mariah has been jacked up by J.LOW LOW??? What the fuck?? They should put these motherfuckers behind bars 4 life.
