Any Iron and Wine fans around here? i did a post a few years back.. but they were still in the "too new" section for a large response... now that their music has had time to breathe..

Yeah, I like him/them (it's mainly just one guy, right?). I have both albums, and have not yet picked up the Woman King ep. He's certainly got a gift for making singer-songwriter acoustic music without getting all 'jackson browne'-ie about it - i.e. music that's relentlessly wimpy, hyper-sensitive, syrupy, etc... | |

were they still "too new" a few years ago? i've known of them for a long while and their shows have always seemed to sell out in chicago (i've lived here for 3 years). [Edited 4/18/06 18:59pm] | |
