How come every1 dont like Shoo Be Doo (Madonna) I think it one of her standout different trax of all time.
This track came to me off guard. it pulled me in with its old skoo R&B sound and tight male vocal harmonies in the background. And no one likes it except me and Cinister Cee? This is another music hate crime like hatin on Baby Be Mine by Mike Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I'm not everyone cause I like that song a lot. One of the best and more memorable songs off of Like A Virgin. In fact, I'm going to listen to it now. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Thats what hooked me From the moment the song started I was hooked. I love the slow start of the song with her singing "Shoo Bee Doo Bee Doo Ooh Laa Laa" with just the piano. It reminds me of the way an old Donna Summer song would begin, all slow and then stop and become fast. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. It's so cheesy with that saxophone solo, not to mention the cuckoo clock solo. Plus, "Shoo Be Doo, ooh la la" as a chorus just doesn't work.
I think 'Stay' is a much better, much more underrated track on Like a Virgin. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

I love shoo be doo as well. There's just a certain innocent magic to that song that I can only compare to 60s girl groups like The Shirelles. Madonna did a lot of great songs in that vein in the 80s. True Blue being the most obvious example. Makes you wish life was really like that. Sometimes I suppose it is.

I'd liked this song. Along with "Angel" and "Over And Over".
Madonna may have her marketing and world domination credo and all but she writes good melodies and hooks and you can tell she loved and studied Pop radio. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page
