Quit using those sissy thin ones ...
<--- ...and get you some black 1mm nylon Jim Dunlop picks. You break one of those and you've got some serious problems. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I use a medium as far as picks go. Yeah, of course, over time, the edges of the pick becomes rough. So it's just time to trash that one and grab a fresh one. The weight of your strings has a lot to do with how your attack on the pick is going to last. If u play with heavy lumberjack strings AND you're using a thin ass pick...forget about it, player. I use the .88's for electric & .77's (if I remember the guage correctly) for acoustic and they never break. Plus they've got a grip so they're harder to drop. [Edited 4/19/06 15:44pm] My Legacy

I hate those bendy-ass Jim Dunlop strings. Okay, the super heavy ones are good for bass.
but for guitar it's gotta be the Fender kind. never broke one in half! exactly how hard are you hitting these poor strings??

During my working-in-a-guitar-store days, I used to sell fifty Fender Heavy picks to this young blues cat who played out a lot. He would basically clean me out and be back before the end of the month to clean me out again. He actually said that he went through picks that fast...
Dude was a big SRV fan - he played 12's and he played HARD. He could probably break bricks with those fingertips of his... My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth
