SWEET JESUS

Late 2007? WTF! Why can't he simply compose a few songs, hire a bassist, and release an album by the end of the year? Jeez!

Or is all this an elaborate attempt to ensure Whoo Kid never returns to Bahrain?

A year and a half is a fiarly short period in which to make an album, expecially for Michael Jackson who usually spends 4 years (on average) to make an album.

true, so interesting though since artist now a days are starting to release albums on average of 1.5 years or 2 years. Rappers put out albums it seems every 6 months!!! Then we got M.J. who takes half decades to release albums.

Anyway, I hope its decent, but like everybody else, i won't hold my breath for it.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Late 2007? Please...I'll be in a completely different frame of mind then. Guess this will give Janet a chance to do whatever she's gonna do with 20 Years Old. Why doesn't he just wait for his 50th birthday?

Butterflies was a great song but after the accusations love songs from MJ don't quite have the same effect for me. confused

I think you're correct in saying he isn't releasing the album until 2007 to give Janet's album a chance, and also so he doesn't have to compete with her. They allways seem to seperate their albums so they don't clash.

um, no, he recorded thriller in 4 months and bad in around 7months, history was even quicker.

unless he has something planned in between now and the end of 2007 he'll b hard pushed to retain any interest in his music.

PLEASE TELL 'EM

A year and a half is NOT a short time to MAKE a record. What happened to MJ's spontaneity? It sounds like he's gonna end up in the studio producing a cold and calculated effort much like the below par Invincible

Don't hate on NightLight. Even though, I don't personally find Michael or any other men "sexy" or anything, I got NightLight's back. dancing jig Because, every women is entitled to their own views on what is "sexy" or "fine." Besides that, I think this album will be good, simply because he doesn't have the funds for all the ridiculous technical crap he used on Invincible. And if he does, than God help us all...

This was my main problem with Invincible as a whole. Some of the tracks like "Unbreakable" "You Rock My World" "Speechless" and "Whatever Happens" sort of sound timeless in a way. However, on stuff like "2000 Watts" and "Heartbreaker" it sounds so dated and lame-o these days. They really made I'd say 80% of the fast songs on that album, suck because of technical crap. I believe it was the author J. Randy Taraborrelli who once asked a VERY interesting question in regards to Invincible. He basically asked, how might the album have turned out, had Michael had the fire in his belly to produce the album himself without anyone's help (IE - Rodney Jenkins). Because on songs like "Speechless" it is clear Michael still has the talent. It is just a shame the quality of his "production" sucked hard on that album.

Here is to better luck next time..... biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

And if "The Way You Love Me" and "We've Had Enough" are any indication of where Michael's "next time" will be taking his listeners on his next release, I'M VERY EXCITED!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Get rid of the computer drums and special guests.

Put together a live in-studio band with live drums, bass, etc...

record the album in a month and get it out there.

One way for this album to be even halfway decent is if Michael has 1 producer or team help him with the WHOLE project not just 4 or 5 songs like every other artist out there. MJ's best albums were with Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton (I'm messing up his last name sorry). They knew how to guide him with the albums they worked on and that's why Off The Wall, Thriller and even Bad are classics. MJ was in a zone and I'll never knock him for those albums. They were the soundtrack to my young life at that time. If MJ has even a good album with this, then that'll be half the battle and I'll be able to dig him again but as of now. I don't see that happening. We'll see.

I trust Mike. He´s survived 40 years in showbusiness. I am sure he knows what he´s doing.
And I don´t know how about you, but I am excited!! excited

Can´t wait for you to come back, Mike!!!
[Edited 4/19/06 3:07am]

Well you'd better put a lid on that excitement as you've got a long time to wait. A year and a half seems like an awful long time. I guess he's enjoying the freedom of Bahrain and not feeling the pressure to work. 40 years in the industry , who can blame him.

I have to say, after the disappointment of Invincible, i wont be waiting with breath that is baited.

don´t worry, I´ve been a fan long enough to know it will take time.

Anyways, I would just like to say that I find it quite unbelievable the way some of you guys are able to put him on a scrapheap, only because his last album was not his best. I mean Prince has done LOTS of albums that I don´t like at all, and I still believe he can make great music. Same goes for everyone else with me.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

For once,MJ should stay away from commercial producers! No R.Kelly,no Rodney Jerkins, etc.Wouldn't it be cool if he wrote 12 songs on his own (with very personal, insightful lyrics),then worked with a new, unknown producer on the music? A very bare,honest,soul-baring album without all the hype,gloss,sky-high budgets and big-name collaborations. That would be so much more interesting.

You know what he couldn't do that if he tried...His career since Thriller has been taken over by the hype and more hype...
