Everybody is a Star.... It's not uncommon for me to get stuck on a track. It happens. A track spins, catches my ear and just gets good to me.
I'm on a spin marathon for this Sly & the Family Stone classic. My gosh.

Love this song, this is my favorite (or second depending on the day of the week) Sly song. I first heard it on Crooklyn and fell in love woth it.
Also, has anyone ever heard the J5ive version, it's almost as good as Sly's. PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever ----- Live Your Life How U Wanna Live It

I'm on a spin marathon for this Sly & the Family Stone classic. My gosh. i'm feeling you..... can you believe i went to tower records in cambell, ca and picked up some old sly stone tracks... i also have had that song in my head for weeks..... i play it everyday on the way home from work. when sly was on the grammys earlier this year, i decided to get into his catalog of songs and find out what made him such a musical icon. well, i now know the reason...this man was a musical genius mad-hatter...you can hear his sound in a lot of funk, soul and some rock artist...even sir Prince. in this track, "everybody is a star", i fell in love with the vocal harmonies... and the musical track... the song is totally soulful..meaningful and makes me feel like sharing a feeling oflove and acceptance for all around me when i listen to it.(sounds idealistic but that would be nice)...i do wish that our mixed up modern life could accept the fact that.... "everybody is a star" Everybody is a star Who can rain, chase the dust away Everybody wants to shine Ooh, come out on a cloudy day 'Til the sun that loves you proud When the system tries to bring you down Every hand to shine tonight You don't need darkness to do what you think is right Everybody is a star I can feel it when you shine on me I love you for who you are Not the one you feel you need to be Ever catch a falling star Ain't no stopping 'til it's in the ground Everybody is a star One big circle going round and round if you get a chance to listen to it...please do...no matter what ur age... you'll find a meaning in this song.... i love you for who you are, not the one u feel u need to be.
My star shines bright ....even in the darkest night...

I need some positivity today, apparently. Nice picks TB. And regarding the rotation, i'd be tempted to drop Sing A Simple Song into that bad boy. Non-stop groove, you learn how to sing the scale, and get a positive message... You're in trouble when you find it's hard for you to smile. A simple song might make it bet-ter for a little while. Lemme hear ya say! ... tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

why did i think of madonna at first? HAhahaaa -- you too? That's funny. In her defense -- I wouldn't have known Sly without Madonna using "Family Affair" during the Blonde Ambition Tour. And what she did with "Everybody is a Star" in the Girlie Show was classic as well. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista
