Favorite 10 songs by Ex-Beatles Here's my list with a note for each one. I'm curious to see what everyone else picks 
1. (Just Like) Starting Over – John Lennon I just have a weakness for this song; it should have been the start of a great new chapter of John’s career but instead it’s now a stark reminder of the sad ending. 2. Maybe I’m Amazed – Paul McCartney The best vocal performance of Paul’s solo career, in my mind. Deeply felt song. 3. Jealous Guy – John Lennon John never lost his gift for amazing melodies. 4. Isn’t It a Pity – George Harrison My favorite track from George’s epic “All Things Must Pass.” 5. #9 Dream – John Lennon Underrated Lennon classic; trippy and beautifully melodic. 6. Figure of Eight – Paul McCartney Another overlooked classic track from my favorite Paul solo album of the 80’s and 90’s, “Flowers in the Dirt.” 7. All These Years Ago – George Harrison Moving tribute to John after his murder. 8. God – John Lennon This song was like a slamming door on the career of the Beatles. 9. Let Me Roll It – Paul McCartney I must have played the “Band on the Run” album a zillion times all the way through when I was a kid. Still love it. 10. Imagine – John Lennon Probably too low on this list for such an important song. And a beautiful song it is…. [Edited 4/17/06 6:09am] | |

My Sweet Lord - George (There were a lot of legal problems but the song is heartfelt.) Maybe I'm Amazed - Paul Whatever Gets You Through The Night - John (with Elton John) It Don't Come Easy - Ringo Photograph - Ringo Starting Over - John (Like NorthernLad said it was great to hear John come back with an upbeat song but because of December 8th it's bittersweet.) Silly Love Songs - Paul Number 9 Dream - John Band On The Run - Paul Woman - John Listen To What The Man Said - Paul Let Em In - Paul There are a few more but they have been mentioned. Honorable mention:(Songs with ex-Beatle involvement or songs that capture their vibe.) Come And Get It - Badfinger Fame - David Bowie Say Say Say - Paul and MJ Without You - Nillson Julian Lennon - Valotte Here Comes The Sun - George with Paul Simon on SNL Sister Golden Hair - America (Reminds me of George's style.) Kind of lesser known stuff:
Isolation--John Lennon. As good as almost anything he did with the Beatles, but too damn short! Watching the Wheels--John Lennon. A real "Lennon" song, not a comeback pop hit or Yoko edification piece. I Know (I Know)--John Lennon. Beautiful song from Mind Games Junk--Paul McCartney. Classic McCartney melody. Let It Down--George Harrison. Maybe my favorite from All Things Must Pass. 1985--Paul McCartney. Paul saves us from the ill fitting "concept" medly at the end of Band on the Run with this song. Photograph--Ringo Starr. Check this out on Concert for George. You'll laugh, you'll cry. I love how Clapton really enjoys this one, too. I'm The Greatest--John & Ringo. I've only heard John Lennon's version, but it has that Beatles magic, despite not being the greatest song. Get on the Right Thing--Paul, rocking but not to prove anything. Nobody Told Me--John Lennon. I like the songs from Milk & Honey because they seem looser. Not anthemic or made for comeback, but like John is back in shape & making music because that's just what he does. My Legacy
