ive never really gotten into Lena...but I think this thread deserves more traffic then the uptenth mj, madge and jj thread...

I agree, the Lena Horne threads on the org gets VERY little attention sad
You should hear some of her 60s and 70s stuff, it`s great. Her version of Elton John`s "Your song" is beautiful.
Among the songs on the two albums i mentioned, "Singin` in the rain", "Let the people talk" and "What the world needs now" is my favorites music

I came to appreciate Ms. Horne through her movies and numerous television appearences and I've always, ALWAYS loved to hear her sing!!

Her grace, her poise, her incredible range, her beauty, her charisma...talk about your TOTAL packages...Ms. Horne HAS it all!

C'mon people, give some heartbeat props!!

Get the first season of the muppet show on dvd, and see her performance of the beautiful song "I got a name".

What makes Horne so good is her phrasing.
