Music purchases that you regret...

What brought this topic about is because I left my comfort zone of classic rock, funk, r&b in general and tried to get a taste for what is out now.

Little did I know my curiosity would lead me to purchase an R-Kelly album, which I truly, truly regret. Besides a few songs, the album is a load of crap!

His music does not move me and I am going to try to get my money back (if possible).

This was as bad as my purchase of Prince: Live at the Aladdin. Although I like some of the performances, it was a real downer.

Have any of you had recent purchases/downloads you really hate?

I will sometimes buy a cd on a whim and that leads to something that sits around or stays collecting dust in a drawer.

Ya gotta be careful that you give albums a chance to grow on you.

If you've owned the album for about a year and you don't like it, I'd say get rid of it.

I have owned the R-Kelly album for about 20 minutes...It might make a nice coaster

Roger Taylor's (of Queen Fame) Happiness. It doesn't sound like the album is even complete. I only listened to it once. It is not one of those "oh, well maybe if I put it in rotation..." CD's.

I bought the Sirens self titled album, but didn't realize until I got it that it was all covers which really turned me off. I kept it for awhile and it was okay, but then I read an interview where they had no intention of ever performing originals so I immediately sold it on ebay. It's too bad. I really liked their look.

I got sucked into buying Starsailor's debut a few years back, I think it's pretty terrible.

They are an indie glam rock band from Detroit. I'd really be into them if they would ever record their own music. However, knowing they will always be a cover band made me sell that album. I'm sorry, artists in my music collection need bigger aspirations that that.

I don't follow indie rock much, but there was a band that came out a few years ago called Electric Six (rock/punk) and I bought their album for one song and was pleased by the purchase. When it comes to indie music though, it is hard to really gauge where I can find something worthy of listening to.

Indie can cover such a broad range. I need to hear samples (and more than one) before I buy a record by an artist that I am unfamiliar with. Myspace is good for sampling songs of new bands.

Here's another one. My poor ears. Adult's first CD 'Resuscitation' was great, but this EP is tuneless. I'm still trying to sell it.

I can't explain.

I fell into the trap of the hype, most of this CD sounds like the R.Kelly's "Fiesta" Remix

The last three R Kelly albums weren't even good enough to count as manure.

Neil Young's Prairie Wind was complete and utter shit too. Wish the memory of it would blow away like a hurricane.

Macy Grays the Id was a real downer, I tried to convince myself I liked it, but it sucked, also the Rainbow children was a waste of money.
The opposite is Turn it on again, the Hits by Genesis, this album has been trashed to death since I got it in December, I forgot how they actually were. Sort of like a white Prince

I deeply regret buying the single "Take Me home" by Bone Thugs N Harmony featuring Phil Collins....

Bone ws pretty good back in the day, but they fell off when they did this ish. The vid was worst with Phil sporting the laid-off postal worker look
