Madonna 1998-Present albums

How would you rate the albums :

5 stars- Classic
4 stars- Great
3 stars- Good
2 stars- Poor
1 star- Horrid

Ray of Light-***** This was Madonna at her creative peak. I love this album.

Music- *** 1/2 I thought it was a good album. My big complaint though is that it sounds very inconsistant. One minute you have hard dance songs, next minute you're hearing folktronica style songs. Still, a decent followup to Ray of Light

American Life- *** I liked it. I cant rate it more than 3 stars though, for the reason that it's a really random album in her catalog. There are some really great songs here, and I appreciate it for what it is. But still, it's not an album I always put on rotation

Confessions on a Dance Floor- **** 1/2 Excellent album. I like how she went back to her roots without totally going back, if you know what I mean. She hadn't made such a dance floor friendly album in a while, so this is a very welcome addition to her catalog

Plantation Lullaby-*** A great start to her career. Cocky and confidenant this was the start of it all.

Peace Beyond Passion-**** A great follow-up. Meshell starts to understand the power of arrangment in conveying emotion.

Bitter-***** Her masterpiece. Painful at times...but never a bore. Her take on the varied stages of a relationship is not all depression. She ends the album with a hope of love that balances the pessimism.

Cookie-***1/2 A bit too hip-hop and contrived for my taste but the message and the songs are powerful.

Comfort Woman-***Meshell's Grateful Dead album...a relaxed party album...

The Spirit Music Jamia: Dance Of The Infidel-***** Everything you hope for from an artist. Beautiful music from a beautiful soul.

Ray of Light - 5 star - this album is great, her best album in he recent career, i love nearly every song on the album

Music - 4 star - this album is also great, but there are a couple of bland songs on the album that bring it down like Runaway Lover and Nobody's Perfect, i really dont mind the fact that it goes from one style to another, the songs are good so why should that matter?

American Life - 2 star - this album is very very very poor, die another day and easy ride are the only songs that save it from being a 1 star. bland, boring songs with no melody and cheap sounding music and production, its so hard to listen to if your not a die hard fan. i dont know what she could possibly have been thinking to release this and expect it to be a hit.

Confessions on a Dance Floor - 3 star - this is hit and miss for me, i really like half the album, but the other half is pure crap, songs like push, how high and like it or not make me cringe. and the songs that i do like took a long time to grow on me.
