I'm going to see Bowie tomorrow night!

Has anyone caught the Area2 tour yet? Bowie, Moby, Busta Rhymes, Blue Man Group among many others...

Yeah no shit huh? Strange lineup but I think it'll be fun. I'm not a big Moby fan but maybe he'll have some kind of entertaining stage set up. I've never seen Blue Man Group before either and I hear they are fun.

You jammy cow!

My live CD arrived this morning, as part of my bowienet membership, and its fantastic. I've been in Bowie mode all day and I'm absolutely gutted that I missed him when he was over here recently.

Have fun! I'm sure you will.

I've heard Bowie is awesome live. I've never had a chance to see him, though.

How about a full report when you get back? smile

Then what are you asking if you can come for? You already are going to see them. Make a little sense.

Ok I don't have set lists or anything but here's a little on the show...very little!

It was very very hot so we didn't get there till 6:30. Then we find out Busta Rhymes never showed up and the only acts left were Bowie and Moby eek Bowie went on at 7 fucking 15!!! I was so pissed, I really thought he was headlining. He sang a few new songs, I don't know the names of them because I don't have the new cd yet. He just mentioned which ones were from the cd. He performed China Girl, Ziggy Stardust, Lets Dance (very, very cool), Afraid of Americans, We could be heroes, ah shit I can't remember too much more...

Anyway, he sounded really really good but I found him to be a little boring??? I never thought I'd say that. It might just be because we were rushed and it was so ridiculously hot and uncomfortable, I couldn't enjoy it like I wanted to.

BUT Moby, to my surprise was VERY VERY good!!! He had a lot of energy on stage and cracked a lot of jokes. At one point he came out with an afro and made fun of himself going bald. And another time he came out with his guitar and said he loves the feeling of being on stage being able to play loud electric guitar, even being as scrony as he is. It was funny, then he went into a rock and roll act and said come on motherfuckers it's all for the children...blah blah blah. Just making fun of heavy metal bands...it was pretty funny.

If I remember any more songs Bowie played I'll post them again. I drank a bit so I had to make 2 bathroom runs therefore I listened to a couple songs while relieving myself...ahhh. Thought I'd share that with you.

Saw him live last month, and though it was mainly a mix of his greatest hits and the heathen album, it was truely great. I'm not much of a bowie fan, but he was closing this festival that had been pretty lame and he actually made my weekend.
