I heard Steve's original first in 1985 and was blown away .
The solid drum-hook Steve or Roger "Dodger" Parker ( Faze-O) plays is right in the pocket . I remember LL Cool J using from that same album " Nobody Can Be You Like You " . Still hoping the second Hall Of Fame album will appear on cd ... both of them are loaded with gems . What i experienced was the direction that Steve took , was a mix of his Slave-era with some of his own vibe . Not excactly know how to define it but it felt like a new direction from what he did with Slave . IMO , the 1981 SNAPSHOT album from Slave comes most close in that area . . . .
