Agreed. Al's grooves were sick. Marvin had the kind of voice anyone would want, and and an incredible ear for harmony.

nod yup...

That's a great story David Eye. I remember going the record store with my mother when "I Want You" came out. I remember we couldn't wait to go home and listen to it on the big speakers. When we got home, she put the record on and the damn thing was scratched (!). You know we took that sucker back and got a refund (lol).

I dig Al but Marvin was the man. Got to give it up baby.....

Ohh and to answer your other q, Jordan was the best to EVER play in the NBA, but Magic is the man off the court....now back to regularly scheduled channel.

Marvin for the tunes and history.
The Reverend for the vibe.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Jordan may be the best individual to play in the league but inadvertently turned the NBA into the hot (one on one) mess it is today.
The best team player ever was Bill Russell hands down.
~ 11 Championships in 13 seasons
~ 5 time MVP
~ 12 time All-Star
~ 22.5 Rebounds per game (lifetime avg)
~ 12 consecutive seasons of 1000 or more Rebounds
~ There'd be another stat here if they were accurately tracking Blocked Shots in his era.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

We will now, once again, return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

I've mentioned this on here a few times awhile back. When I was very young, Al called our house a couple a times to talk to my dad. I would answer the phone and Al was very polite asking me how I was and how old I was. U know, typical questions u ask a little kid. At the time, it didn't phase me cuz , even though I knew who Al was, being we had his stuff, I wasn't excited at the least. Mainly cuz it wasn't The Jackson 5.
