am i the only one tired of all these R&B/hip hop artists??

who the hell is signing all these Chris Browns & Marios & omarions and all these other no talent, over produced r&b acts? it seems everyday there is some "new" person on the scene saturating the market with even more bullshit and doing absoultely nothing even remotely different than all the crap out there all ready. Pretty Ricky , Rihanna, Keyshia Cole, bow wow, Fantasia, etc and they are all so dull and sappy , evrything sounds like it could be sung by another act. when is this bad patch in music and radio going to fade out???/

Absolutely. There's just no personality behind any one of those acts. They coukd swap all their songs around with eachother and it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference.

I think the hype of Chris Brown is definitely premature. That kid only has 1 hit single and people are calling him the new MJ. Please! Keyshia Cole is ok but I could never see myself buying her msuic. Fantasia rocks. I'm not a fan of her music but that girl can sing. I wish she was doing rock or funk instead of r&b. I give Rihanna 5 more years before her career goes the way of Ashanti's.

Here the part that kills me though. Even when someone with talent shows up, they burn out after 1 or 2 cd's. Lauryn Hill, D'Angelo, Bilal, etc.....

Every label wants to find their own Usher, some guy who can work into the system and tap into the market for 9-10 rocks.

First Justin was the next MJ, then Usher, and now Chris Brown. Anyone notice the trend..... there won't be a new MJ.
This is one reason these new artists bore me to death. They dedicate their careers by mimicing anothers. Originality is lost.

I agree. This music is garbage. There was a recent Vibe cover story on Chris Brown, and the headline reads "Chris Brown:The Future of R&B" barf

I am so done with today's R&B.I'll stick to my 70s soul music, thank you.

MJ was "MJ" because he stood out. In a sea of mediocre sound-alikes, how can there possibly be a new one?

Agree, originality has definetly been lost. That's why even though peeps may not really rate him I like John Legend at least he is not trying to ape the obvious..

Agreed. Today it's all about selling Units and who's Marketable. It's a shame that who they deem as marketable is garbage. The artist's that try to be different.... radio is afraid of. Radio is another topic in and of itself though. Just give me the true to the music artists: Meshell, Van Hunt, Anthony Hamilton, Bilal, hey even Prince when he dares to be different.

You're certainly not alone. I dislike most hip/hop/rap music these days. The videos are a joke too. Everything about it is very boring. I'm sick to death of it all!

co-sign. The stuff that's filling the charts is cookie-cutter and not noteworthy in any way. It's also keeping rock from being played on top 40 more. mad

I've been sick of the shit for years. That's why I took all the stations that play current music off my dial and said the hell with them. There are so many current artists I have never heard of and proud to say I've never heard of them. Television is the only reason I know some of their names.

But let's not be fooled here.....R&B and hip hop are not the only "styles" of music that is garbage.....the majority of RADIO and VIDEO is nothing but garbarge. That goes for "Pop" and some "rock" as well. The thing is...when you do come across good rock/r&b/hip hop and pop artists...it's REALLY GOOD but SOOO underground or underexposed that these artists can have had several albums out and be considered "new on the scene" to the uninitiated clouded mind.
I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

Precisely! Nobody even tries to be unique or different anymore. All of these artists dress alike, and they all sing about the same things. Is there really any difference between an R.Kelly CD and a Ginuwine CD? Chris Brown is just doing the exact same thing that Usher was doing a few years ago. What's the difference between Chris Brown,Mario,Omarion and any of these other young R&B cats?

Yep, I can't even tell the difference between their voices half the time. They have the same producers, same co-writers, same choreographers, same video directors etc. I could go on.
