The Best Of Evelyn "Champagne" King Okay so I bought her "Greatest Hits" CD and am loving it.
In addition to the #1 R&B classics "Love Come Down" and "I'm In Love" which I've been familiar with for a long time, I discovered a slew of new goodies including: "I Don't Know If It's Right" (the uptempo companion to Janet's "Let's Wait Awhile"), "Shame (12" Version)", "Spirit Of The Dancer", "Teenager" (produced by Prince Andre Cymone!!), etc. My question is what other good songs can you recommend from Lady King? BTW, does Evelyn still record or perform in concert?

I bought this collection and wasn't into it right away but it's good. I really like "High Horse", also on that disc.

Evelyn is another ass-kicker for me. 'Shame' is one of the most hecka-slammin' songs ever.
I saw years ago at a Funk-Fest with bands like Ohio Players & the Gap Band. It was so sad for me cuz, she opened the event & was the only act supported by recorded music (no band). And while I enjoyed it, no one else in the audience was feeling her. Until her final song, which was "Shame". But since since her music was recorded, it faded out just when Ms. King was getting into her groove. I could sense her frustration as she ended her set saying, "Okay, I guess that's it." I felt so bad for her.
