But the Raspberries were great enough to make me forgive him.

New Order - Singles : Even though I already own 'Substance' and 'The Best of New Order', I couldn't pass up remastered versions of all of the '80s stuff. The Essential Billy Joel: Even though I really dislike Billy Joel, I wanted Allentown on a CD, so I splurged. My appreciation of Mr. Joel still doesn't extend much further than this song. Van Hunt - On the Jungle Floor : Got this solely because of the love it got on here; so far I really like it. The Flaming Lips - At War With the Mystics: Haven't really played this one much yet, but it has promise. Hopefully I'll give it the chance to grow on me. Pink - I'm Not Dead: I like it better than Mizundastood, but not half as much as Try This, which I really dug. Still think about half of this is really tight, and I'm sure I'll play this a lot throughout the summer. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

John Coltrane - Giant Steps (the thing that annoys me is that I hear John Coltrane on the left, Paul Chambers on the right; stereo separation? --> what where they thinking!!! Leads to headache through earphones... ), have to listen to it better before I'm able to pronounce the judgement. But Coltrane is the man, anyway.
Miles Davis - Amandla : an okay record, not too spectacular, but with some fine moments. After all, I have to admit that I expected a little bit more. John Coltrane - Olé Coltrane: without a doubt a masterpiece. Listening to the 18 minute long title cut while walking through Vienna, or sitting around and watching the people passing by, is without a single doubt a very special experience... John Coltrane - My Favourite Things : yet another masterpiece. Those two albums (for me, they belong together not only since I bought them on the very same day). Fantastic! Weather Report - Black Market : I am not the biggest WR fan, but this has grown my favourite WR album by now. Vivid, nice music. Mahavishnu Orch. - Birds Of Fire : I like it better than their debug (that I have not heard in ages), but after all, I see myself moving away from that type of fusion.
