Stevie has nothing left to prove. He seems to be at peace and that's probably why he isn't coming out with "inspired" albums. Stevie ruled the 70's like Prince the 80's with few, if any equals. Perhaps Prince only keeps pushing on because he doesn't have a family to take care of yet or perhaps it's something deeper than that. I don't know. Neither of them need to record another note to prove anything.

Besides, there's nothing Stevie or anybody can do to top Songs In The Key Of Life. For those who need a more obscure, quirkier album there's The Secret Life Of Plants, one of my favorite Stevie albums by the way. Nobody's perfect but from what I can recall Stevie has made a point of spreading positivity and a message for change for the better of humanity . That alone separates him from every other artist of his calibre I can think of.

Stevie was doin synth long before anyone, even before "Superstition" It was part of the Wonder Sound
as well as his lyrics and attitude.
I feel it was his 'going for the Big Band' sound that first trumpeted his demise in music although i can understand
giving a 'shoutout' to the Big Band boys
I AM King BAD a.k.a. BAD,

Therapy

So so ignorant disbelief

Those who do not see their own value - how can they notice it in another? Stevie is to me, beyond a quick summary in vocab on this site.

Tsk.

I've always loved his I Aint Gonna Stand For It..from Hotta Than July...an underrated deep cut clasic imo

And Clapton made a mediocre cover of that country-ish ditty.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
