AHA

Thats right the TAKE ON ME guys, the USA one hit wonders. Easily one of the most underated bands of the last 20 years. Most of america doesnt know AHA still exists and has just released its 9th CD "LIFELINES" in 2002. If you have an Import shop near you look for this CD, and look for their 2000 cd MINOR EARTH MAJOR SKY, currently AHA is touring everywhere but the USA on a 70 date SOLD OUT tour, playing venues ranging from 3,000-30,000. I know everyone remembers for their keyboard POP anthem but they are nothing like that, they went off that sound on their 2nd record and have gone totally away from keyboards ever since. Basically COLDPLAY are their biggest rip-offs, and some of RADIOHEAD too. AHA are mainly acoustic and but still have that perfect sound that really no one can match, lead singer Morten Harket is still amazing and YES still hits that damn high note and goes higher. It is a shame that AHA cant get played here or now even released here, even though they are still on Warner Bros records their original label. AHA still makes the BEST VIDEOS ever, each one totally different and never boring or typical. But honestly if US Radio and VIdeo wasnt bought by corporations and people could just pick or if everyone got played maybe they would have a market here. But honestly to some bands the US is the last place they need to sell. As AHA members put it so bluntly on the VH1 One Hit Wonders show "MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE CONCENTRATED ON THE US MARKET BUT WE WERE TOO BUSY SELLING ALL OVER THE WORLD".

Trust me they have an amazing sound, their current CD LIFELINES, their 2000 CD MINOR EARTH MAJOR SKY, and their 1991 CD East Of the Sun West of the Moon, which is really hard to find but worth the look. These are their 3 best and truly represent their strongest songwriting and sound. They have always written their own stuff and played their instruments and hopefully one day the US will open the door to their music again. But if not spend the extra dollars on their imports, they are worth it.
