diamond dogs has the most immediate gratification for me, but when i'm in the mood for it, nothing can beat man who sold the world.

They're definitely 2 of his darker, more difficult albums and not ones I gravitated to immediately.
I love them both, but "Diamond Dogs" to me is much more fully realized and thrilling.

Neither album are near my favorite Bowie albums, however, I like Diamond Dogs better than Man Who Sold the World. There are only two songs I really like on Man Who... (the title track and Width of a Circle), while almost everything on DD is worthy. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

I don't really like Man Who...at all. One album too early for me. Hunky Dory is where he really figured it out.

Diamond Dogs, easily. Some nice stuff on TMWSTW but not everything is great and I like his voice a couple of years later much more. DD has the title track, Sweet Thing, Rebel Rebel, 1984, Big Brother....what more could you ask for?
