The Madonna "Confessions" tour thread (tourdates,seating charts,early setlists,press reports,costume ideas,etc)

The popular Madonna fansite,Madonnatribe, has just posted some exclusive info on the tour, not sure how reliable this is so take it all with a grain of salt. One thing that is true....the dates will be officially announced on Monday April 3 at 9:00 AM!!!.

Madonnatribe has heard news about the new tour setlist that Madonna and her band are rehearsing. Please be aware that the following is,obviously,a spoiler of the upcoming tour experience and also please keep in mind that things are subject to change."Isaac" is indeed part of the currently rehearsed setlist. The song is part of the second, more "serious" part of the concert, and is performed by Madonna joined onstage by Yitzhak Sinwani. He also appears later in the show, when Madonna performs a live acoustic version of her "Paradise (Not For Me)" in the third segment of the concert, the one that somehow brings back some of the intimate feel of her "Drowned World" and "Re-Invention" tour moments, and preceeds the fourth, and final part of the show.

hmmm

here's another posting that has been circulating on the Madonna message boards.Who knows if it's true or not,but it sure sounds interesting!

So this is my first time posting on this board but I am so excited that I couldn't stay away any longer.Last week,I was hired by Madonna's new tour production company!!! I have already attended some of the rehearsals for technical meetings!! I just can't believe this is happening to me.I've never worked on such a huge project before!!! Than god no one there knows that I am Madonna's number one fan!!!! So this is a spoiler alert! If you don't want to know the details before the show, then stop reading here! For those of you who want to know more about the upcoming tour, here we go:

The opening number is "Get Together"!!! Madonna is going to make her appearance on the top of a giant boombox modeled after the small one used in the "Hung Up" and "Sorry" videos, with tons of lights and fake woofers. We don't know yet if she will show up from under the stage but as the boombox is set to be really heavy,I'm almost sure that we won't be able to hang it from above. Then she will be joined by about 8 dancers.I didn't see the full choreography yet but from what I've caught,it's going to hot and sexy!!!

Second song is "Jump".All I know about it right now is that Madonna will use a central and transparent catwalk that drives her into the middle of the crowd. The catwalk is to be designed as a 80s club dance floor, with tons of colored lights.

At this point,Madonna and choreographer Jamie King want to create a megamix made up of "Hung Up" and "Sorry".The choreography will be very similiar to the "Hung Up" and "Sorry" videos, using some kind of dark background and about 12 dancers doing their thing on a giant vinyl record that will spin during the whole set.Madonna is going to join them during the song's chorus and then run from one part of the stage to another during the verses.

My team was asked to build transparent plexiglass stairs today. They are going to be used for a remixed version of "Where's The Party".That's all I know now but I will certainly get more details on Wednesday.

While in the rehearsal studio,my boss started to discuss some technical details with Madonna's management (guess one of the girls there was dancer Angela but I'm not 100% sure cause she didn't have the same long hair that she used to).I wasn't supposed to watch what was going on in the studio so I didn't get to see much (Cloud said hello to me at some point!!! I can't believe how tall he is in person!) but as you can imagine,my ears were perked! Guess that Madge was taking a break for a few minutes because Stuart started to play some reworked versions of "Holiday","I Love New York" and "Into The Groove".They were all mixed together and mainly dubs, not the released versions we all know about.

Last but not least,my boss explained later to me that we'll have to figure out a way to get a real horse onstage from the left wing.I just don't want him to discover that I'm a Madonna fanatic so I asked him if he knew anything more about it.He told me that it would be used for one of the 'American Life' songs,a slow one....I just said "maybe that "Easy Ride" song?" and he said "Yeah,I think that's the one!".He also explained that we would have about 3 minutes to prepare the horse ready before the song starts as it will be performed right after a similar interlude that will use 6 different screens.

That's it for now but I will post more when I get back home on Wednesday night (there are no rehearsals set for tomorrow and Friday but I was asked to work on Sunday instead...).Please note that I don't care about the haters who will say that it's all bullshit.I'm just posting this to share the fantastic opportunity I am being given.Yes,I'm working on Madonna's tour!!!!!

so,if we are to believe the recent rumors, these are the songs that are currently being rehearsed (the entire COADF album minus "Future Lovers" plus a few select oldies)....

Hung Up
Get Together
Sorry
I Love New York
Let It Will Be
Forbidden Love
Jump
How High
Isaac
Push
Like It Or Not
Erotica
Hollywood
Borderline
Where's The Party
Paradise (Not For Me)
Holiday
Into The Groove
Easy Ride

that's only 19 songs. There is room for several more songs.I'm betting that she will also perform "SuperPop" and possibly "Fighting Spirit",since she wants this show to mainly be about her new music. Also, there's a rumor that Stuart convinced her to perform "Like A Virgin".She was against the idea at first, but then he came up with a cool disco remix that she fell in love with,so who knows?

Yes, i'll have to max out the credit card on this one. This is all really exciting. I just can't wait for them to make the official announcement so i can see the schedule. It better be out by next week, especially if she plans to begin in May.

Yes i'm in Toronto. She did 3 shows here last time and rumours are saying she's not coming here but instead going to Montreal. Either or, i'll attend. Even if she doesn't come to Canada, i'll just travel to the nearest tour location.

I agree.I am sick of that song. She performs it on every tour, and it is played out.Why not perform "Everybody","Dress You Up" or even "Causing A Commotion"....songs that don't usually appear on every tour that she does?

Reminds me, wasn't Prince supposed to start his tour in May, too? And he hasn't announced it yet! pout

more exclusive news from Madonnatribe!!! (spoiler alert)

While Madonna fans keep struggling waiting for the official tour announcement,Madonna and her team keep working full throttle on the new show, which from what we hear is already shaping up in a rather defined way.Looking at what the Queen of Pop and her band are currently rehearsing, you'll have a feeling that this new concert has something in common with her two most recent world tours, but at the same time is not only a "re-invention part 2".

The current setlist is being heavily based on 'Confessions On A Dancefloor',with a total of nine songs from Madonna's latest album being rehearsed at the moment. The selections from 'Confessions' are quite natural, although there is one particular song that is apparently missing from the setlist in some unexpected way.

We've heard that the show is currently divided in four different segments, with tracks from 'Confessions' being spread all over the setlist--and obviously not being limited to a specific section only. There are again some great classics from her back catalog to complete and compliment the concert set,but differently from 'Re-Invention'...you wouldn't exactly call this a "Greatest Hits" show. Some song choices and some moods recall the 2001 'Drowned World Tour'.

The non-Confessions tracks in the current setlist are highlights from her first album,'Ray Of Light','Music',one song from 'True Blue' ("Where's The Party") and one from the 'Erotica' album---which is not the title track contrary to what was recently rumored.

The opening section is very energetic and mixes strong anthems from 'Confessions' to a totally reworked dance version of one of Madonna's signature hits.

A more serious part of the show then follows, this one also includes "Isaac" with Yitzhak Sinwani onstage as we previously reported about.

A third section sees Madonna playing guitar, bringing back both the rock feel and the intimate moments of her "Drowned World" and "Re-Invention" tours. This is the section where the new live acoustic version of "Paradise (Not For Me) is included.

Remember the ABC special that was aired a few months ago showing Madonna at her NYC home where a mash-up version of "Music" mixed with the disco classic "Disco Inferno" was played in the background? From what we hear, this is exactly the version that she's doing onstage for this tour,as the opener of the fourth and final segment, shaped up as a classic climatic closing, making the darkness seem so far thanks to some more of her all-time hits. The closing number of the current setlist, just like the opening one,is again one song from 'Confessions'.

As always, please remember that things can change along the way,but if the songs in the setlist remain the ones that Madonna is currently rehearsing, the 2006 tour might also be remembered for breaking a sort of tradition in the Madonna show history,as the classic hit featured in all of her past concerts so far, this time is not there
.

So,no "Holiday"? hmmm

ATTENTION: SPOILER

EXCLUSIVE - After revealing the three most important sections of the show, Equestrians, Middle Eastern, Disco, we want to add that at the moment "Music" and "Everybody" are two of the old songs that Madonna is planning to perform. "Music" and "Everybody" currently feature an amazing roller skating choreography.

Finally, here is a selection from the current setlist:

Like a Virgin
Deeper and Deeper
Sorry
Music
Hung Up
Everybody
Isaac
Jump
Paradise [Not For Me]

Keep in mind that, as happened with the re-Invention Tour, everything is subject to change.

I'm hoping that she will re-consider.I like idea of her including every song from COADF.That's actually a bold thing to do,and Madonna is all about taking risks."Future Lovers" is one of the most interesting tracks on the album and it absolutely must be included.

The Sun Paper on possible Tour set List

Today's edition of the Sun paper publishes an interesting article on Madonna's upcoming live show.

I have managed to obtain the first details of Madonna's forthcoming world tour. And if you thought Re-Invention was special, this one is shaping up to be even more spectacular.

Her Madjesty is recreating scenes from notorious New York nightclub Studio 54---famous for its debauched antics and drug-fueled dancing in the Seventies.

The Queen of Pop is even learning to krump---a cool hip-hop dance based on body-popping and breakdancing. The dance is featured in Rize,a documentary by film-maker David LaChappelle.

A source said: "Madonna has been practicing krumping ever since she filmed the videos to "Hung Up" and "Sorry".It started as an underground dance in gangland L.A. and Madonna now wants to make it her own".

Madge has ordered a unique spinning platform to be designed so she and her dancers can recreate Studio 54's extravagant scenes. She has also orderd dozens of disco balls to decorate the staqe with authentic Seventies lighting.

The show will open with a disco queen section, featuring girls in sparkling suits, male dancers dressed as pimps and more dancers roller-skating.

Another section,American Land, will indulge Madonna's obsession with horses, with video walls showing footage of her riding scantily clad in the pouring rain.

A third part,Oriental and Eastern, will see Madonna joined onstage by a Kabbalah singer to perform a remix of her brilliant album track "Isaac".

One section will have a Parkour specialist---the wacky sport on the BBC promotional film with a bloke running across London rooftops.Madge will also showcase some new music,if her label Warners gives the go-ahead.

And I have the provisional tracklist to prove it.

Producer Stuart Price has been working on "Keep The Trance" and "History",which I hear are both killer tracks, and he has completely re-worked "Erotica" and "Who's That Girl",which are almost unrecognizable.

Madge has had her wardrobe designed by old allies Jean Paul Gaultier and Dolce and Gabbana, with her jewelry and accessories by Lacroix.Madge has also been locking herself away for 13 hours a day practicing her routines for her most dance-oriented show ever. She has also started a strength-building diet and is jogging to get in shape for the grueling two-hour shows which kick off in L.A. on May 21
.

SET LIST BY SUN:

"Hung Up"
"Where's The Party"
"La Isla Bonita"
"Music"
"Love Profusion"
"Get Together"
"Isaac"
"Erotica"
"Nothing Really Matters"
"Jump"
"Everybody"
"Dress You Up"
"I Love New York"
"Holiday"
"Bedtime Story"
"Hollywood"
"Skin"
"Ray Of Light"
"Sorry"
"Borderline"
"Keep The Trance" (new song)
"History" (new song)
"Like A Virgin"

lol this article is obviously filled with lies and unconfirmed rumors, but it's an interesting read

You may like this latest update from the Madonnatribe fansite...

We've just heard about the opening section of the concert that is currently being rehearsed, that it is one of the most amazing and strongest moments of the entire show.It starts with "Future Lovers" from 'Confessions On A Dancefloor',filled with elements strongly reminiscent of the vibe of Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer's "I Feel Love"....an amazing,full-of-energt number and a great opening.

In the current setlist,a regular "album" version of Madonna's next single "Get Together" follows, and after that, the long-awaited "Like A Virgin" is performed in a totally re-worked dance version to die for! Then comes "Jump",again rehearsed just like the album version, and that ends the first part (Act 1) of the show.

hmmm so many rumors,so many conflicting reports,so many different setlists...lol...expect to see alot of this in the coming months.

But if she is really rehearsing "Future Lovers",then at least it is being considered for the show. That's a good sign.

let's hope that this is just a rumor. There is NO WAY that Madonna could bring a real horse on a world tour,it's a bad idea and I think she would get severely criticized by animal rights groups.
