paula's in the news YET again...

this chick has become the poster girl for what NOT to do after your singing career disappears faster than a snackwell's cookie at a weight watcher's convention. smile

Abdul alleges assault at party
'Idol' judge says she was thrown against a wall, suffered spinal injuries and concussion
By Richard Winton
Times Staff Writer
Originally published April 7, 2006
Los Angeles police detectives are investigating a report by "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul that a man threw her against a wall and left her with spinal injuries and a concussion after they argued at a private party over the weekend on a Hollywood studio lot.

Police Lt. Paul Vernon said the incident, alleged to have occurred about 1 a.m. Sunday at a private party at Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street, is being investigated as a battery case.

Authorities did not reveal the name of the man Abdul accused of injuring her, saying that the investigation was still underway.

"She said the man grabbed her arm and threw her up against a wall," Vernon said. "She complained she suffered a concussion and spinal injuries."

Abdul told investigators she had argued with the man, he added.

Abdul made the report at the Hollywood Division police station at 9 p.m. Tuesday, accompanied by others, Vernon said.

Abdul told investigators she had sought medical treatment and "agreed to make herself available at a future date for her injuries to be photographed," Vernon said.

Her representatives declined to comment.

Sources familiar with the incident said the party was operated by Xenii, a private, exclusive membership society offering elite entertainment.

On the night in question, the event was held on a soundstage at the Sunset-Gower Studios.

Xenii officials declined to comment.

Abdul is a Grammy Award winner best known these days as one of three judges on Fox's "American Idol," a nationwide competition for singing talent.

Abdul appeared on the show Tuesday and Wednesday.

I can't argue that. I remember one time she left her car running outside a spot in L.A. and it got jacked. That was over the top.

Doesn't she have some problem with her spine already? I remember rreading an article where she talked about overcoming her condition to become a dancer.

Anyway, didn't Jackie Jackson's ex-wife try to run them over once? Or it could have been just Jackie.

Sorry, I disagree..NO ONE deserves physical abuse...even someone as annoying as Paula Abdul.....
but I do agree that some people create their own problems and drama...and I could easily believe that she does... nod

She definitely brings on the drama herself, no doubt about it. As far as the physical abuse part goes, who knows, maybe Paula said something to the guy that he didn't like, so that was why he grabbed her arm and threw her up against the wall. We'll never know what made him do it.

Well, as I said in my post above, Paula might have had a little too much too drink and said something to the guy to set him off, making him do what he did. We'll never know for sure, but have you seen her on American Idol? She acts like she's drunk or on some kind of meds, she doesn't act right most of the time.

no matter what the circumstances no man has the right to grap a woman by the neck and slam her up against a wall...NO JUSTIFICATION!! Its disgusting that some of you are event discussing Paula's personal issues within the same breath as what this man did...

do rape victims deserve to be raped because they are beautiful? did nicole simpson or lacy peterson deserve to be murdered?

Well, I find it hard to find sympathy for someone who acts like she's stoned or drunk half the time. Maybe that sounds cold, but that's my opinion, which I'm entitled to.

Not in Paula's case, no. Not exactly being judgemental, just stating my opinion here. Think we need to agree to disagree on this one. wink

I've spent many post-bar late nights at that joint. There is a sound stage across the street. I hope Paula got some fries and gravy after she got her ass whipped.
