Mary J.Blige on Madonna

She may have sold more than 20 million records,scored countless No.1 hits and collaborated with music legends including U2 and Sir Elton John.

But Mary says she won't be happy until she's teamed up with Queen of Pop Madonna.

She revealed: "The woman is incredible and I'm not afraid to publicly say it would be my dream to collaborate with her.To perform with her would be amazing.I love the way she re-invents herself constantly,she's an inspiration.So,I guess Madonna,it's over to you".

Makes perfect sense to me. I'd love to see this happen.

A few years ago,Jay Z wanted to do a song with her and she was interested,but due to scheduling conflicts,it didn't happen.Sometimes I wish she would collaborate,just for the hell of it.I wouldn't mind hearing Madonna singing the hook on a cool hip-hop track,since she's never done that before.

As for Mary...I don't know about that one.

Alicia Keys said she wanted to work with Madonna as well. And just recently i read Cyndi Lauper claiming that a project between her and Madonna will definately happen this year.

A few years ago Madonna said she didnt like duets as she always wanted to be centre stage. To that point she'd done duets with Prince and Ricky Martin, and said she'd turned down both Bono and Frank Sinatra who'd approached her. Since then she's worked with Missy & Britney spears (hmmm turn down bono and Sinatra, work with Brintey & rickey martin?!?!?!?!)

Anyway, while i love Mary J Blige, im not sure how well it would work. I dont think you could get two more different voices, and im not sure what they'd sing about (PMT????). I thought she sounded awful on Britneys track, so id rather they did something true to themselves rather than go for a big hit song. I guess they could try a big camp dance number, that might work.

did you know that Maddy actually recorded a song with Salt N Pepa? This was in 2000 when she was preparing her 'Music' CD.The song remains unreleased,but I'd love to hear it.

i heard about this through all the rumours in the build up to that album, but had completely forgotten about it. I've never seen it in any write ups of her unreleased songs so Id take this rumour with a pinch of salt(pun obviously intended).
