"Oops Upside Your Head"/The Gap Band

Does anyone know if "Oops Upside Your Head" was meant to be a tribute song to Parliament? I ask because there are so many obvious references to George Clinton, Bootsy Collins and Parliament in that song.

No. It's not a tribute but a good ripoff. I guess touring and opening shows for the Mob rubbed off on them. But The Gap Band was a great band in their own right.
