My prerogative still sounds fresh!!!

I remember when i first saw the video to that song. I musta been only about 5 or 6, and that song had me jumping up and down like a madman. No song before or since, got me so excited LOL

"its my prerogative cant see u see babydoll, ha.....why u wanna talk about me....."

Damn, this song musta sound so good at the time. Newjack was about attitude, and Bobby was the perfect guy to front the genre.

I've decided anything Teddy Riley produces sounds timeless. Michael's Dangerous album prove this. And "My Prerogative" offers more proof of this. Doesn't hurt that both singers are good with the music though. biggrin

teddy is underated, he basically created what is known as rnb today. Of course, he used a little bit of full force, cameo, gap band (guy were the gap band) etc.... u can thank him, or as i sometimes do, despise him , for fusing modern rnb, using pop hooks, and hiphop beats.

Teddy is long past it now, it happens to eery producer in rnb, they dont have that long a lifespan usually. But his influence is undeniable. Just ask his protoge Pharrel williams.

Teddy should be credited on "my preogative" i think? But iam pretty sure gene griffen stole his songwriting credit.

If u look on Bobby Browns very hard to read linear notes, teddy is on keyboards on "my prerogative", aswell as helping with the mixing etc..i think gene girffen stole quite alot from teddy, and teddy sometimes took credit for what someone else did too (i think pharrel got cheated by teddy a couple of times).. funny, they spelled bernard belle, bernard bill (on the backing vox credit of "my prerogative")? I guess it must be bernard belle. Another jacko connection 4u, bernard worked with teddy and of course jacko, on "remember the time".

Bobby Brown is so lucky. It has always been one of my dreams to work with lots of the producers Michael did during the Dangerous album. If only people like Bernard Belle, Bruce Sweeeden, Bill Bottrell and ofcourse Teddy Riley. If only any of them did music for less than 100000 some $$$$ lol

I can dream though.... cool

Did u know, jacko worked on "dangerous" with la reid and babyface? Iam pretty sure he worked with bryan loren too. As "superfly sister" sounds very 1990, and they both did "do the bartman" (which had a killer remix)

Infact, Michael even appears on Byran Lorens "music for the new world" album. Jasonstar, if u liked "superfly sister", u must hunt for this album. Very, very hard to find though i think?

Nah. I was always more of a "Don't Be Cruel" fan.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

I like Brit's cover....It has it's charm.

I've been listening to a lot of Bobby and New Edition. I have a New Edition doubel disc titled "Gold". It's not complete (it doesn't have the early hits) biut it has a nice smattering of solo hits including "My Pregoative" but I can't stop listening to "On Our Own". It's a great little piece of soundtrack infectious pop.

Yeah, iam a big fan of "on our own". I actually like the lyrics to that one. Had a good remix off his remix album "dance...ya know it!"

"too hot to handle, to cold to hold". I've been saying that for so many years now lol

Brits cover is not for me. Can see why she would do the song though.
