you haven't listened to enough kate. sorry, that's MY opinion.

listening to her singing "moments of pleasure" this morning, i realized that anyone who thinks she's a bad singer has to be cockeared.

-----
I have only listed to "Woman's Work and "Running Up That Hill" and I am sorry I do not think my ears could take anymore abuse.

yeah, that's pretty much her whole catalog right there. lol

If Laura didn't like those, can you imagine if she had heard the original "Wuthering Heights"? Her ears would have fallen off!

besides the subject of vocal performance, y'all need to be thanking Kate for writing such a gorgeous song for Maxwell to butcher. the song is so beautiful that not even his constipated with the avian flu vocals couldn't ruin it. biggrin

I prefer Kate's version. Maxkwell's a little too overdramatic for me..sometimes subtlety is key biggrin

I went & bought Kate's version based on Maxwell's LIVE version - couldn't get w/ Kate, but I love the shit out of Maxwell's Unplugged (the whole album) to this day exclaim

Unfortunately, his studio version is miserable & sad disbelief

Kate's first.

Max's second.
• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Maxy's, because he added the much needed soul to a song about one's soul. Kate's version sounded very stiff, kinda like how Cueball O'connor butchered Nothing Compares 2 u after St. Paul made it his own!
I think I love you. clapping

I did the EXACT opposite. I bought Kate's version based on Maxwell's rendition and the first thing I thought when I heard Kate's was "Oh ok..this is how this song is REALLY supposed to sound." Maxwell's version sounds too whiny... sad
