I had no idea Van Hunt had a new cd out. How is it? Talk about a silent release.....

I've only listened to it once so far, but I think it's better than the first album.

I hope Annie Lennox can get something together this year. Same for Bowie.

U2 and New Order are supposed to drop too.

I think we can count out U2 for this year; the fact that they had to postpone the rest of their tour dates due to a family illness seems like it would also set back the rest of their agenda. Hopefully whomever is sick (Rumor has it that it is Edge's daughter) gets better and they can get on with their tour (and life).

They were supposed to release another DVD from this tour, soon, though; I think it will be from the European stadium leg.

So far I really liked the Morrissey and the Pink CDs. I thought the Arctic Monkeys one was overrated, and the Prince one was decent.I'm planning on buying the Flaming Lips new one soon, and I've heard good stuff about it, so I'm excited.

I am really looking forward to the new Pet Shop Boys, Arcade Fire, Janet Jackson, and REM albums, though. Plus, the Depeche Mode remasters start coming out at the end of April in the US, and the promise of a Prince tour is very exciting as well. Didn't know anything about a new-New Order, but I'm sure I'd snap that up as soon as it came out, also.

I was just gonna post about it.
cool
It's incredible. The Lips actually incorporate some funk into the mix on the new one. No lie. Well at least their version. Not the whole album, just in places. If you are a fan of the Lips you will love the new album. It's got elements of last two albums as well as some of their earlier material while still looking to the future. I can't say enough good things about it.
My vote for top 2006 release thus far:
The Flaming Lips - At War with the Mystics
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.
