Badly Drawn Boy, someone you hear nothing about in the US, save for a recent appearance in a Target commercial. Writing brilliant songs & crafting beautifully arranged albums. Not the best singer, though. Big Star, whose singer Alex Chilton inspired another famous Minnesota band: The Replacements--along with Big Star, the "next big thing" that never was.
