More trivia--SNF was based on an article by Nik Cohn "Tribal rites of the new Saturday Nioght" that was printed in New York magazine. He wrote about a Tony M caracter etc and Alan Carr bought the rites to the story to make SNF...and later in the 90's, Cohn fessed up that the origianl article had been complete fiction. I grew up on SNF and unashamedly know all the words to the movie and ST . Hell they sghowed it on cable back then daily. It was a trip for us young kids to see the sordid business of grownup life, dancing, drugs etc. My mother initially took me and my friends to see it as well because we were too young--I think my ma was transfixed with the movie as well. When Tony does his solo dance to You Should Be Dancing theres that one chick sittin on the floor and they go to a single shot of her and she goes "oh yeah".

Paisley

That was one of my favorite movies from the 70's, I thought Travoltas dance moves were amazing and I loved the whole plot of the movie. Oh yeah one more thing, it didn't hurt that he was FINE! That was my first love!

2001 was in Bensonhurst not Canarsie. The soundtrack and the whole mystique is still popular today.
