Jon B News, Split with Babyface ..more .. -Jon B ends deal with Sanctuary Records and Edmonds Music Group After 11 years signed with Edmonds Music Group, Jon B and management has ended the production deal/relationship with the company. "It's time to move on," stated Jon B, "Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Tracey Edmonds signed me in 1994 and I will forever be grateful for all they have done, but all good things must come to an end". Jon B and management have also ended the recording deal with Sanctuary Records, after only 1 year with the label. Sanctuary Urban President, Matthew Knowles inked a one year deal with Jon in September, 2004, but lack of promotions, marketing, radio, video presence and tour support, the "Stronger Everyday" album sales are way below what they should be. "I have never sold less than gold (500,000 unit sales) on any previous label situation. I understand that Sanctuary is an independent label, but "Stronger Everyday" is probably my best album to date and there was no support behind it" quoted Jon. "I thank Matthew Knowles for giving me a chance to record my fourth album, I just wish they supported the album like they should have". -Coming off a successful West Coast Tour, Jon B is back in his studio working on his fifth album. With no tour support from Sanctuary records, Jon B's management decided to put together an 18 city, West Coast tour in support of the new album. Jon and his band jumped on the 36 foot tour bus and headed out on the "Stronger Everyday" tour which covered 18 cities in 4 states, including Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington. The tour bus rolled out of Los Angeles on July 5 and headed for Arizona, making its way back to Cali, then to Oregon and ending up in Quincy, WA (just eat of Seattle) for the KUBE 93 Summerjam 2005. With full band behind him, Jon b rocked the more than 15,000 fans in "The Gorge" outside amphitheatre. "It was a great 3 weeks" stated Jon, "We played a lot of cool spots and with full studio on board of the bus, I was able to record while on the road". Also on the bill at The Gorge was Ciara, Brook Valentine, Bone Thugs, Pretty Ricky, Mike Jones and headlining act NAS. -Jon B working on fifth album and plans for a "Greatest Hits Live" album. Jon B is currently in the lab working on his fifth album, currently entitled "Back To Love". A "Greatest Hits Live" album is also in the works and with a new label behind him, Jon B and his camp are excited about what lies ahead in the nears future. Jon will still be performing around the nation. Check out the tour page for shows near you. Stronger Everyday was indeed probably is best album hot uptempo funk cuts like "Im Right Here" "Hands On U " "Lately" "Everytime" I wish there was more promo on it. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It must be very hard to be white and sing soul because it seems it takes a mighty long time for any of their music to come out.
Thicke's CD was supposed to come out last month. Teena Last CD tooked years before it arrived on the shelves and now poor Jon B.. he has more issues with the Edmond's.. --Maybe some more funky soul ballads will come from JON. Keep your head up. Sancutary's R&B divison is a joke (Where is Rick James' last album?). The album is very small and is really for artists who should not expect much in the way of commerical success but can expect a label large enough so that their base of fans can find the album easily enough. So that's what was going on. I didn't know he had an album out until I saw the video for [i]Lately[/], a song that I thought was pretty good. I'm looking forward to the next one but too bad it'll just be a GH. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off | |

Sanctuary Records is a joke.I don't think any of the albums released on that label have become a success.Beyonce's father doesn't know what he's doing.
