The Angel In Your Arms This Morning I heard this song on the radio the other day for probably the first time since the 1970s. I love this song and want to buy it but I don't know who the artist is. It's by a female and it's from the 1970s.....
Because the angel in your arms this morning Is going to be the devil in someone else's arms tonight Andy is a four letter word.

"Angel In Your Arms" by Hot (1977)
(written by Brasfield,Ivey and Woodford) Do you think I'm such a fool to believe everything you say is true that just goes to show that you really don't know While you're out painting the town do you think I'm home just sittin' around waiting for you now who's really the fool? When I first found out I hurt all over I felt so left out til I got to know her so I tried the way that she got over and I became just like her so don't be surprised to find that (chorus) the angel in your arms this morning is gonna be the devil in someone else's arms tonight the angel in your arms this morning is gonna be the devil in someone else's arms tonight Why'd you slip around secretly if you were tired of loving me why'd you keep holding on when love was already gone The times you said you weren't feeling well did you think I couldn't tell you'd been with someone else you were only kidding yourself When I first found out I hurt all over I felt so left out til I got to know her so I tried the way that she got over and I became just like her so don't be surprised to find that (chorus) the angel in your arms this morning is gonna be the devil in someone else's arms tonight the angel in your arms this morning is gonna be the devil in someone else's arms tongiht the song was also covered by Millie Jackson on her 1977 album 'Feelin Bitchy'

Thanks David. I've got the Millie Jackson version already. Usually, I prefer her remakes over the original but she didn't do too good a job on this one. She didn't give it her trademark....a nice trash talking rap.
I looked for the Rhino compilation this weekend. There used to be numerous volumes in the stores. Now there are only a very few. In fact, I only saw two volumes of that particular series. I noticed a lot of the other compilations that I already have are gone also. That whole section of the record store looks to be about half of what it used to be. However, I noticed there are more racks with current artists than there used to be. I guess the record stores have the same problem as the prisons, there's just not enough room for all the thugs. . . [Edited 4/3/06 23:46pm] Andy is a four letter word.

You may have to go to Amazon to find the compilation you are looking for. Those CDs are excellent, containing a ton of rare 70s hits that many people have forgotten about (such as "Angel In Your Arms").

I agree,Millie's version is suprisingly tame. This is one of those songs where she could have really let loose and delivered one of her trademark trash-talking raps, lol.

When I rediscovered that song many moons later, I thought it kinda had a country feel to it. The song is on Atlantic Hit 45's '58-'77. You can find it on Amazon for as little as $2.99. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
