I noticed that a lot of the stuff you all are listening too is old material. Anything new that is funky? I don't like Jazz but if it's funky I can get into it.

You should check out

- Erik Truffaz: "the Mask" + "The Dawn" (uhm, maybe you can try out the song Yuri's Choice and see if u like that stuff wink )

- the 1999 album "Charged" by Toshinori Kondo, Eraldo Bernocchi, Bill Laswell
(it's damn fine electronic jazz)

i always dog Bill Laswell. What's up with that cat?

Miles "Agartha".

what do you think of Pangea, btw? I love Agartha (heard it years before Pangea), but when I got that one, I found myself liking it a bit more than Agharta. But anyway, those 2 albums belong together.

On the other hand, Pangea has no "Theme From Jack Johnson". Hm, I guess I have to put this stuff on my Zen.

If only the sound was better!

Get the Japanese remasters on sony international. They are about $35 each, but well worth it!!It will open these beautiful cd's up to you even more!!!So far,I have agharta, pangaea, and dark magus on that tip.Really great sound!

. . . contains the best collection of remasters I've heard. They sound as if they were recorded yesterday.

Dark, experimental Swamp Funk...at the time it was released most folks left this one alone....but listening to it now, it seems way ahead of it's time , almost like the progenitor of a lot of adventurous Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, and Trance music...I'm sure stuff like this had a big influence on Bill Laswell(who later did some of the Panthalassa Remixes)...
