Frank Zappa's The Yellow Shark.

His last album before he died. The beautiful, sad music fits the occasion. A burial for a king.

NO answers so far?!?!

tss.

Yes it's a great piece of work, the Ensemble Modern was the most dedicated classical ensemble I think FZ has worked with during his lifetime. Civilization Phase III might be in the same level, BUT i haven't heard it yet (Only N-Lite and Waffenspiel...) The Germans have a long lasting tradition for "modern classical music".

One of my favourite cuts is "Get Whitey".

After all this is my favourite album of the "classical " Zappa. The LSO albums are good (now on one disc), but on a different level than the yellow shark.

Btw, there is a new album by the Ensemble Modern out with FZ music: "Greggary Peccary ..." - a friend of mine played it to me while we were cruisin' for burgers (and girls). It has Night School on it, one of my favourite FZ tunes ever (from Jazz From Hell originaly, one of my favourite FZ albums ever wink )
