Kamaal The Abstract - Q Tip

What do u feel about it?

I downloaded the bootleg album and its really hott. I like it even more than Amplified.
I understand why it didnt come out, but it just changed my perspective on him and what he can do.
My favorite III jams being "Barely In Love" "Heels" and "Do U Dig U?"

biggrin It's Still one of my favorite albums of the last five years!! We've talked about it a lot here on the org, But it still makes me angry that Arista wouldn't release it...They claimed they didn't know how to market it, Yet 3 years later, they released Outkast's Speakerboxx/ The Love Below, to critical acclaim (and strong sales)!!! Meanwhile Qtip recorded another album , and That one hasn't been released yet! Motown/Universal claims it's scheduled for this year, but I ain't holdin' my breath...

this was one of the best albums to never come out, it only had 9 or 10 tracks and i could listen to it all the way through.

i like it, though i'd lose one or two tracks. Overall, i hope this not being released doesn't prevent him from doing more stuff like this. Shit, even rappers gotta stretch out a some point.

I LOVE this cd! It is better than "Amplified" It definately should have been released, though I don't think it would have been successful. Still, there is a market 4 people who would love this cd. What happened 2 the days when it was about art and not money? Sure it wouldn't have made a lot of money or sales, but I feel it would have been looked at as a hip-hop classic. I remember one reviewer (in SPIN magazine back in 2001) said it sounded like "Prince's basement tapes from the 80s", which I interpreted as meaning it had the raw, gritty, and demo like qualtiy of say the "Dirty Mind" album. I think it could have been 2 hip hop what Dirty Mind was to funk/soul.

Cool cd..well,download.I wish I had a real copy. I kept thinking a live cd was coming, too.Tip is so underserved as an artist it is ridiculous!!Maybe,he should do a mainstream record w/kanye producing to get a hit..then,finace and release his own experimental stuff independently. Maybe, sign with stones throw and release tracks on e-music.I'd buy anything he put out!!A great artist.Maybe he should sign w/npg.
