GangstaFam said: sallysassalot said: i don't believe it. not because its out of character or anything, lol, but for two other reasons. for one, madonna is not one to copy something that other public figures have done (she only likes to copy underground happenings). everybody has done the "on a cross" thing, its so lame. secondly, what does it have to do with discos and dancing? kinda out of place for this tour idea, isn't it?
Live to Tell = Confessions = Catholicism = Christianity = Cross I know I'm stretching, but maybe she's trying to play up the Confessions title of the album and tour. i'm glad she uses religous imagary... it make me smile!!! You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

what is the deal with this auction thing? is it for a cause of some sort or is it simply madonna's way of charging even more for tickets without excluding a large section of the public? the minimum bid for ONE tickets is 380 dollars + service fees and tax. that is 30 bucks more than the normal highest price. if it is not for a charity of some kind it just seems like really poor form. its madonna's version of ebay.
anyway, i've noticed for quite a few shows not all the tickets have bids. also, tickets are still available for quite a few shows. seems like she may have beaten the scalpers but at a high price (no pun intended). good luck to everyone scalping tickets...looks like its gonna be a tough sell. (which is great for me cuz i'll see you at the venue, naming the price for your tickets. )

Madonna Tour Tickets Selling Quickly April 10, 2006, 4:45 PM ET Ray Waddell, Nashville Initial ticket sales for Madonnna's upcoming Confessions tour have been predictably huge, with shows added in several cities and virtually all dates selling out. The tour, which begins May 21 in Los Angeles, has sold out four shows in Paris at Bercy Stadium beginning Aug. 27, seven shows at London's Wembley Arena beginning Aug. 1, two shows at the 40,000-capacity Amsterdam Arena beginning Sept. 3, and four shows in New York's Madison Square Garden beginning June 28, as well as doubles in Los Angeles, Montreal, Miami and Chicago. Also sold out are Las Vegas (May 27), Philadelphia (July 12), Hartford, Conn. (June 25), Phoenix (June 8) and San Jose (May 30). Tour producer Arthur Fogel, president of TNA International, tells Billboard.com there has clearly been no resistance to ticket prices that range from $50 to $350. "What you have is a recognition that she creates and delivers a spectacular show every time she goes on the road," says Fogel. "And this tour will be no different." With a gross potential in the $200 million range, Confessions could be the top-grossing tour ever for a female artist. In 2004, Madonna's Re-Invention tour grossed $125 million and drew more than 900,000 fans to 56 shows.

but many of those US dates are not sold out. chicago has tickets available almost every time i check as does san jose, fresno, 2 of the nyc dates, and the mot recent miami date. those are the only few i've checked but its most certainly not selling out.
though i suppose announcing that it is selling out is a smart way to get those having second thoughts about buying tickets to put their money down.

I'll meet you at Emmas. It's a cool Mexican restaurant/bar that's only a few blocks away from the arena.Whenever there is a concert, folks always hang out here before the show. For the Re-Invention tour, they aired the entire "Girlie Show" DVD on their TV screens.

though i suppose announcing that it is selling out is a smart way to get those having second thoughts about buying tickets to put their money down. Actually, there's a little more to this story.Check out this interesting post I found on the Bay Area Craigslist (which is filled with scalpers trying to sell their tickets).... Madonna Ticket Info For those interested in buying or selling tickets to the Madonna show... Fact#1: The shows are selling out in less than 30 min.Vegas went in less than 20 min,Fresno sold TWO nights in 45 min. True, tickets are "held" to sell at a later date. However,Ticketmaster is holding tix for PUBLIC AUCTION!!! Take a look---Vegas auction tix is already up to $1,000 each & San Jose is up to $750 each. with six days left on the auction! Fact#2: Look up ticket brokers on line-you will find the LEGAL brokers are already selling tickets for as much as $3,500.00 EACH. Take it from a person who wasn't able to buy tickets on Monday because it sold out so quickly-the real "criminals" are the brokers and Ticketmaster! There is some truth to what this guy is saying. After I bought my tickets,I waited around with several other fans.We saw numerous people go up to the box office, trying to buy tickets. Many fans were told that the show was "sold out",or that the only tickets left were the cheap $55 seats, which were behind the stage. Then, moments later, another fan would go up there, and suddenly, they would get good seats. We asked the guy who worked there, and he confirmed that many tickets were being "held" by the promoter and released at different times. This is odd.In any case, the San Jose show is now completely sold out and there are rumors of a second show, but so far,it hasn't been announced yet.

They're not even being discreet about it...lol....they're doing the same thing that the scalpers are doing I guess Madonna isn't the only one who will be making mega-bucks from this tour, lol. another news article about Madison Square Garden... New York Daily News Madg-ical! MSG tix go in 10 mins. Faster than a ray of light,Madonna sold out every tickets-even those going for $400 a pop-to her initial run of shows at Madison Square Garden for her upcoming "Confessions" Tour. Ten minutes after they went on sale yesterday morning, all seats were gone for the first two announced New York dates,June 28 and 29. A short time later, the promoter announced two more dates,July 2 and 3,and those sold out by early afternoon. A fifth show has been added for July 18.Tickets for that date go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. The 47-year old material mom also quickly sold out all seven shows at London's Wembley Arena, four concerts in Paris, plus all dates in Los Angeles,Miami,Montreal and Chicago. Fans who've been shut out shouldn't give up.It's common for seats to be held for various production and promotion purposes to be released for sale closer to the concert dates. Madonna's dance-oriented "Confessions" show opens at Los Angeles' The Forum on May 21. Jim Farber April 11,2006
