new artists (my downloading spree) after a 7 hour downloadig spree through the most unconventional channels i came up with a handfull of artists and songs that sound incredibly and future promisingly good: Roman Revutsky - weird dude from Siberia, music sounds like heaven and it reminds me vaguely of matmos, but more structured and pollished. standout tracks: Incomplete, Hurry Up Castanets - kinda recalls Chad van Gaalen, but differently, think Chad, filtered through Sufjan Stevens with a dash of dust brothers. standout tracks: Three days Four Nights, All That I know to Have Changed in You Sam DesBourgh - only have one song so it's very hard to go on, but it's an electronic artist using conventional instruments mixed with synths n computer stuff. floaty, heavenly melody standout tracks: On the Farm Buck 65 - lol, this is the most bizarre one. the alternative 50 cent in a leftfield indie environment. it's like the studied cosmopolitan in an outfit out of "the emperrors new clothes". but he pulls it off. it's as if you're listening to something that should be funny, but while you're waiting to laugh you become entranced. standout tracks: The Floor another group I found while sifting through the online sewers was this band called "The Magic Fields", which reminded me of Arcade Fire a bit but which is an older band I think. not sure, they could be brand new. But somehow, I don't think they are. standout tracks: Born on a Train, Take Ecstacy with me soooo, can anybody tell me some more about these people? and also, feel free to add your own favorit new discoveries here. it's always great to find out about new or interesting music through other people imo! and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
