That's Mel B (Scary Spice). I heard she was an exotic dancer before the Spice Girls. She is F.I.N.E. But her music? Yep, it's awful and I have the singles to prove it razz

All I ever heard was the "Word Up" single. Was there an album? confuse

OK, I am revealing way too much of my lameness but:

Word Up was for the Austin Powers 2 soundtrack. She also had a single for the movie Why Do Fools Fall in Love called "I Want You Back" Who the hell knows why the soundtrack to a 60s movie has a former Spice Girl doing a Missy Elliott song, but those were the 90s razz It wasn't too terrible. She had a solo album after that called Hot which was British R & B, I guess. I only had the singles for it(she looked so hot on the covers), but that was quite enough for me. It was just flat out bad. I always thought she had a good voice on the Spice Girls. Her problem was her material for the most part. She should have been going for poppier stuff, but I think she felt like she had to fit in with the r&b world. I wonder if there was pressure on her to do this or if it's what she actually wanted to do.

Spice Girls Vocal Rankings:
#1 Mel C. (Sporty)--this was just obvious, she was lead vocal on every song
#2 Mel B. (Scary)--perfectly fine for most pop songs
#3 Emma (Baby)--weak, but barely serviceable--like Janet Jackson's voice
#4 Posh Spice-erm, she looked hot at least--didn't really sing
#5 Sexy Spice--well, she had a decent speaking voice--I hear she's made a bit of a showing as a gay pop icon(makes sense: she was the image of the Spice Girls) last I heard she was covering "it's raining men"

I figured there had to be some back in the day, Spice Girl fans creeping around the org. You are in good company! biggrin

As a guy while I didn't jam on there music when they were out, and the it thing in pop culture, due to them being marketed towards girls, I did want to sleep with each of them or all of them at once. razz

falloff

Well, I didn't want to sleep with any of them lol but I did like their music. Harmless stuff. Pop music gets such a bad rap, sometimes, but when it's done as well as this... who cares? They deserved all their success.

I missed the fuss around 'Wannabe' as I was holiday when it was released in the UK. I came back, saw it at No 1, and I was like confuse "'Spice Girls' Who the hell are they??!". smile Then, of course, they exploded everywhere. But it was 'Say You'll Be There' which sucked me in.

I even bought Geri Halliwell's two solo albums and that's something I never admit to. lol I love 'Look At Me'. Camp as tits.

eh, I'll take the Spice Girls ANY day over nirvana. I hate that pathetic "I hate my miserable existence" rock. The 'Girls were a lot of fun, had great pop songs and were for the most part fucking awesome to look at. I regret Kurt's painful martyrdom, but Billy Corgan's songs were still 10x better

Im with U biggrin

A few corrections:

Mel B released two solo albums: 'Hot' and 'L.A. State Of Mind' which was released last year.

Geri's name was 'Ginger Spice' and had the most solo success of all the Spice Girls with her three albums. Her cover of "It's Raining Men" was on the 'Bridget Jones's Diary' soundtrack and later on her 'Scream If You Wanna Go Faster' album.

Spice Girls were a fun pop group which is why I'm amazed anytime I see Posh Spice she comes across as a humorless bitch. For all she has in the world she seems to be a giant pain in the ass. But I hear they love her in the UK - although I can't imagine why.

Um, not to put too fine a point on it, but what exactly are you correcting? I never said Hot was Mel B's only album. I also didn't describe how successful Geri Halliwell was, only that she had the weakest voice in the group. That's just my opinion, although really it's only between her and Victoria Beckham(Posh) over who has the worse singing voice. At least, technically. I guess you could say Geri has character in her voice, which counts for more than technique. wildsign

Okay, so they weren't really corrections as much as additional information.
