River Of Dreams Song Appreciation

This song is kinda hot for AOR. it's got a killer bassline and a lot of cool vocals. you can tell he likes all that old time religion music.

anyone else digging Billy Joel?

I do like this song, but I think he got sued over it. Someone accused him of plagarism. Never heard what the outcome was, though. One of my favorite Billy Joels songs... cool

I beleive it was dismissed before going close to court. As for the song, it was good for a time, much better LIVE in concert. But as far as the Album itself, its a dreadful album, basically caused Billy to retire.

Disagree.... The album itself, River of Dreams, was a brilliant album. It was kind of a departure from Billy's usual thing in that it was a little rockier/bluesier than people were used to from him. But it was a fresh sound and the songs on that album were pretty strong. I always thought Billy "retired" partly due to a growing love for classical music and partly from just being lazy.

The song itself is indeed a great pop single.
