Prince and Eminem and album?

Not that it would happen for a long time if ever... what do Prince fams think of Eminem... I forget my musical influences are rather rare for a straight white male (not saying I am uniqe) but in the U.S. it is a different taste. Does Eminem cross racial bounderies like Prince.

I see a lot of similarities between the two... genius and pop mega stars from the beginning... oh yeah, biograghical movie, and of course... an endless supply of raw talent, I would love to see those two do some work together when Eminem's popularity dies down... what do you all think...honestly

and don't post if you never heard any of his music.

well it won't happen for one Main Reason: Prince doesn't work with Hot People.you gotta be on the Side of the Road or in the Minneapolis Bus Stop out on your Luck for 10 years before He looks your way.I think 3rd base,Special Ed will get a Call from Prince maybe. His Pattern is stil in tact there.digging up DOug E.Fresh,Larry Graham,Najee proves that point. 2nd: Content.different frame of Minds.Eminem has Charm,Charisma,Witty&Funny but lacks any depth overall IMHO.Prince is also about a Certain Class&Eminem appeals to a More PWT Vibe in His Work to Me.3rd: Production now who is gonna allow themselves in the Back? both would want TOp-Billing.4 I don't think the Pop Audience of Yesteryear wants this&I doubt Very Seriously the Pop Audience of Today wants to See or Hear it as well.Prince&2Pac would have been Interesting or Prince&Ice Cube back when Cube had the Jerri Curl.

In case you didn't know... from my point of view, there are Prince fans who hate rap/hip-hop regardless of any Prince connection, and there are Prince fans who love rap/hip-hop on it's own. But for some reason, whenever Prince and hip-hop are combined together, Prince fans just loose their minds in protest. I think that most Prince fans completely detest any kind of union between Prince and hip-hop no matter who the artist in question might be.

I think a big reason why Prince fans hate Prince doing hip-hop is not so much because of the sound, but simply because it comes across as 1.) "selling-out" for commerical gain and 2.) trying to fit in or follow trends. And in my opinion, I think most Prince fans didn't become Prince fans because Prince was being a "follower". Instead, I think most of us became Prince fans because he was the one leading the pack and setting trends. And even when the sounds he created and continues to create aren't totally new, what draws must of us to him is that he continues to do his "own thang" regardless of what ever else is going on around him. So for those reasons, the thought of Prince hooking up with Eminem is probably not a good one for most - I know it's not a good thought for me.

Do you honestly believe Prince, Larry, Eminem, D12 and Dr Dre could inhabit the same room at the same time?

The description "genius" is thrown around way to liberally these days. Even if Prince was still throwing rappers onto his recordings I doubt he'd work with Eminem. And Prince's results with rap don't usually work anyway. It sounds forced and corny. As much as I love Chuck D. I don't think "Undisputed" was anything special.

Eminem is many times clever lyrically, but I actually find him boring because predictably it's like he contrives his lyrical controversy for the sake of being controversial. His shock value is past its due date, especially since I don't find his music interesting.

I don't think he's crossing any boundaries outside of hip hop, but I don't know that it matters, considering he pushes a lot of units off the shelf anyway, plus hip hop crosses racial boundaries already. Most of the genre's buying public is White.

I think it would be great myself. I've never gotten hung up about Prince incorporating hip hop into his music as long as he made it his own: examples--Gett Off, Horny Pony, the 'solo rap' by Tony M on Live 4 Love fits perfect IMHO, Chuck D on Rave, Doug E Fresh(who is a great old skool rapper) live on Beautiful Strange are all great.

Esp on a song like 'Without Me', Prince and MM could be very funny together.

I don't see it happening, but oh well.

Although I like Eminem I wouldn't really like to see him do an album with Prince. The 2 styles together would be ODD! Em is very Hard-core. I would rather Prince do Gothic. He never did that. At one time Rolling Stone suggested The Cure! And I believe they did meet. I would like to see him work an album with Marilyn Manson. Who I think would be willing for some FREAKIness. Imagine that shit! Prince hasn't done Vampire or Gothic stuff but he's done all the other Genres of music.

Gwen Stefani needs to get ready for that NBC Madonna Movie of the Week.and as long as She is with that tired Band She will never blow up."Don't Speak"&a few other songs is all She&them have.hardly a Hot Artist except for Her look IMHO.Eve? ain't even in Lil Kim or Foxy Brown's Class&She is weak as a Artist.Angie Stone I Like Her&Respect all She has been through but lets be real She is like a R&B SOul Singing Puffy type Artist. All Sample Jams.Gladys Knight,The O'jays,etc..Gwen,Eve&Angie Combined do maybe what 2 Million Albums Combined?? they aren't what I'd call Hot Artists.nobody is gonna go Multi-Platinum with just them on there ALbum IMHO.

No way, if he's gonna go that way he needs to hook up with Trent Reznor...
Prince and Nine Inch Nails... That would be a killer album...
And than release a few singles of it with some remixes done by Aphex Twin... That would be too cool...
But that'll never happen, I wouldn't be surprised if Prince was scared of 'em...

I'm a big Eminem fan, but and album with him and Prince wouldn't work. In fact, Prince would tarnish the record with his lame ass music. Prince really should hook up with Trent Reznor, Gary Numan, or Tori Amos. It's time for him to get a new groove on.

Trent is Awesome but Marilyn would be so freakin out of Control! Anything could happen with Prince. Gothic would be So different for him. Trent likes to do everything himself also and another Gemini. Although he is Bad I tend to see Prince doing Ministry, Depeche MODE, Marilyn Gothic. I would Love seeing him try it and see where it would take him. BAHHH!!!

Didn't Eminem jack the plot of Purple Rain for his new movie? Or am I imagining things?

Anyhow, I know Mariah blatantly did it for her shitass film Glitter... Lord only knows why she wouldn't think that the rest of us would notice. rolleyes
