First ever PJ Harvey live DVD coming soon :D from http://www.pjharvey.net
PJ HARVEY: FIRST EVER DVD RELEASE CONFIRMED
We are pleased to bring you exclusive news that the first ever PJ Harvey DVD will be released by Island Records on May 1st 2006. Titled “PJ Harvey On Tour – Please Leave Quietly” and directed by Maria Mochnacz, it was filmed during the Uh Huh Her Tour and offers an intimate and insightful look into a world of touring, performing and travelling. Having finished her seventh album Uh Huh Her in the autumn of 2003, Polly took to the road with a four-piece band. The collection of performances featured on PJ Harvey On Tour charts her journey through summer festivals, to her UK and European tour and on to the US in October 2004, creating a patchwork quilt of sights and sounds. Live performances taken from the tour are combined with behind-the-scenes footage and material. Stage sets are constructed and dismantled, sound-checks take place and recording studios are explored. PJ Harvey shares her thoughts and feelings about the process of touring through unique video diary footage, giving a very personal account of life on the road. Featuring two previously unreleased tracks, Uh Huh Her and Evol, the cameras are also on hand to capture contributions from crew members working on the tour, giving a complete picture of the day-to-day experience of touring. Extras include a unique 28 minute interview with Harvey which sees her share her thoughts on writing, recording and performing. The tracklisting, which spans Polly’s career, features the following songs: Meet Ze Monsta / Dress / Uh Huh Her / Taut / Down By The Water / It’s You / Big Exit / Harder / The Darker Days Of Me & Him / A Perfect Day A Perfect Day Elise / Victory / Catherine / Who The Fuck? / Evol / My Beautiful Leah / The Letter [Edited 3/23/06 19:18pm]

Her live VHS "Reeling" is one of the best concert videos I've ever seen, so I'm expecting great things from this one as well.

"Uh Huh Her" and "Evol" are some kickass songs too. Glad to see they're getting at least some wider exposure.

My musical wish list just keeps getting longer and longer and the dollars shorter and shorter Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

Hey you! At least the artists you love aren't disappointing you. Just the opposite ~ they seem to be reaching new heights ~ which make it even more necessary to buy these releases! Let's take a road trip soon? Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

The last time I saw her live was when she opened for U2 here in Chicago. Most people were not into it but I was fully into her. By the time she closed with "Rid of Me" I was a puddle. Bono had to mop me up.

Roseville? Royal Oak? I need to fill in some Stereolab gaps and have been wanting to check out Neptune. Or did you mean the trip we've been planning for about 10 years now?

New Mexico is a little far for the weekend dontcha think? Royal Oak would be fun ~ I haven't been to Neptunes in a while and I could really love some Mongolian BBQ and dark chocolate covered almonds. Lotus would be a cool stop too. Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

I absolutely LOVE That My Beautiful Leah is on this dvd.
The end of that song when she grunts along with the names of the months in sync with the sound of a whip-crack/door-slam all on top of that distorted throbbing fuzz bass...well, let's just say my thoughts are nsfw. Can't wait to see/hear it live.

Can't wait to see/hear it live. I was FLOORED when she busted that song out when I saw her here in LA During the concert she had two drummers. I have never seen that at a concert before and it was an amazing addition to the music. When the synth started blaring out of those speakers she walked over to the drums and sang the song and hit the cymbals on que. I LOVE THIS SONG! Desire is definitely my favorite of all her albums 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I actually used to be afraid for Polly, what with her scary expressions of emotions. It has been so satisfying as an appreciator of her art to watch her change over the years. She is one of my musical heroes 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I like to think of myself as one anyway. I haven't been very productive lately, but I'm working on it.
