no. he's a talented and original songwriter in his own right. i think the buddy holly look and the stagename were just a way to get some pop culture cred for the sake of attention, and it all just kinda stuck. and elvis looks more like woody allen these days than buddy holly... | |

?? I don't get that at all. I don't think they sound alike either--plus Costello's actually had a career spanning decades. Buddy Holly didn't have much of a chance at one since he died so young. | |

I never thought about it either. But yesterday I was listening to the radio and they played a Buddy Holly song. I was thinking, "That sounds A LOT like Elvis Costello..." Then it just clicked... like doh... | |
