worship worship

These compilations are essential, containing the full-length versions of many hard-to-find jams like:

"Wide Receiver" by Michael Henderson (1980)
"Bon Bon Vie" by TS Monk (1980)
"Sun Is Here" by Sun (1977)
"777-9311" by The Time (1981)
"Peanut Butter" by Lenny White (1980)
"Backstrokin" by Fatback (1980)
"Free World" by Jesse Johnson's Revue (1985)
"We Got The Juice" by Attitude (1983)
"Heartbeat" by Taana Gardner (1981)
"The Beat Goes On" by Orbit (1983)
"Money (Gotta Get My Hands On Some)" by Fatback (1980)
"Thighs High" by Tom Browne (1981)
"Ridin High" by Faze-O (1978)

interestingly, the song "Disco Nights (Rock Freak)" by GQ is presented in a weird, demo (?) version that I don't recall hearing back in 1979.

Lately I've been listening to The Budos Band, Don Covay, Anthony Hamilton, Lee Dorsey and Graham Central Station. I've got heaps of the more well known bands, so maybe some obscure stuff that is hard and funky? Like Skull Snaps or Plantlife type stuff...?

The Phat Trax stuff looks good, I haven't heard a lot of those in the full length versions. I think a walk down the corner wrecka stow is in order tomorrow lunchtime.

if you're looking for an obscure 70s funk band to listen to,check out the Kay Gees.I've mentioned them many times on this site and nobody seems to know what I'm talking about (lol). They were proteges of Kool and The Gang and their music is very similiar.Their big hit was 1974's "(You Got To) Keep On Bumpin",which is nearly 8 minutes of blistering, hardcore funk.I don't even think that Finess or Paligap remembers this jam, lol.

another obscure 70s funk band is Pleasure.Their 1979 hit "Glide" is a funk classic...that bassline is just outrageous!!
