Mediocrity is constantly accepted as the norm, nobody can force you to go buy the new Pete Waterman/Pop Idol CD.

The thing I hate most is that he (among others) made it acceptable to sound bad & make millions. This makes it harder for people who are actually good to make the millions they deserve

I do agree with Essence though, its the people who buy this dross that you should be blaming.
There have always been people like Pete Waterman in the music business and manufactured bands go back as far as the 50's and 60's, if not before.
