We've had a lot of Goldfrapp threads in the last few months (I think I started them all) so people may be Goldfrapped out. You are not alone as a Goldfrapp fan!

What about Supernature 5.1 Mix? Great, huh?

Alison looked hot in the Number 1 video.
I just got Supernature because of all the raving about it, and it seems really good so far. I've got to soak it in more to make a definitive decision. I haven't heard any of their past work, and apparently it's better.

I like their first two albums especially Felt Mountain, but couldn't really get into Supernature as a whole. But yeah Felt Mountain .....the Tarwater mix to Utopia is super nice. It's better than the original version, imo. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Try listening to 'Supernature' while eating some clams. That will make it sound better to you.

Supernature is the best of the 3 IMO. I'm just in love with this record! I'm glad i ain't the only one here liking this band!!!
This being said, "Utopia" has the most poetic, fascinating lyrics i ever heard. I'd b curious 2 know how y'all interpret the "fascist baby" line. I mean, i have my own interpretation, but i'd like 2 know urs, thanx 4 sharing. [Edited 3/22/06 10:48am]

im really digging Supernature
class album. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Guys, I don't know. I saw Goldfrapp on Leno (aka Tonight Show) and I wasn't exactly floored by the performance. I'm not saying the group isnt good, but they may be an acquired taste. Y'know kinda like Eddie Izzard.

I saw that performance too and it was just so-so. You should rent their live DVD 'Wonderful Electric' which is much more representative of how they are on stage.

BTW, did you see Alison's top 12 music list in the March 24th Entertainment Weekly? Yma Sumac was #2! I missed this post the first time. I wouldn't be suprised though... Yma Sumac's an amazing vocalist. I can hear her influence in some of Beth Gibbon's work at times too. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

It's become one of my favorite albums. You know when I hear Goldfrapp's "Human", I think of Yma Sumac, I'd get Voice of Xtabay next. oh my god, you should hear the note she hits on the song "Chuncho". "Legend of the Sun Virgin" kinda goes hand in hand with "Xtabay". So yeah, I'd defintely give "Mambo!" a listen. I've been checking out some of Les Baxter's stuff too....he produces most of Yma's music. It's exotica/lounge/hawaiian music. It's nice stuff to relax to, and it makes me wanna grab a drink and throw a tiki party. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I'll definitely be getting 'Mambo!' this week probably from Amazon when I order the new Banshees reissues. [Edited 3/27/06 12:21pm]

Hi! I haven't posted on this site for many years but as I saw this topic on Goldfrapp I thought I needed to add that if you have the chance to see them live then get a ticket immediately.
Saw them supporting the teenage cancer trust at the Royal Albert Hall, london, yesterday and they blew me away! What an amzing voice Alison has, sometimes reminded me of Kate Bush! The energy of the music was fantastic and got the crowd really going wild! Thank's very much Alison and co for a fantastic evening!
