I dunno what my 5 albums are but I guess the list would include Prince - Sign O' The Times Rick James - Street Songs Parliament - Funkentelechy vs The Placebo Syndrome Sly & The Family Stone - There's A Riot Goin' On Cameo - Cameosis [Edited 3/19/06 4:09am] It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Are you ? To each his own I guess... Say what u want about The Darkness, that is a great rock record. Every track could have been a single. It was the breath of fresh air I was looking 4 when they came along. Saw them in concert last month and it was the funnest concert ive ever been to. Justin floated across the crowd in a giant boobs space ship, hilarouis then at the end he floated across the crowd again playing guitar upside down. Great fun! http://www.myspace.com/craigssoapbox

But as a whole I don't think the album is that good... I decide what is a 5 star album for me, based on several things.
Nr 1, the songs have to at least for 90% be absolutely wonderful and 2, the album has to have a certain unique feel, like a very own atmosphere and sound.Nr 3 is the album's place in the artist discorgaphy and the context in which it was released. A slight n less important Nr 4 is the artwork and album as a package, incl what singles were lifted from it and their b-sides. so in no particular order: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Boatman's Call The Beatles - Revolver Tori Amos - From The Choirgirl Hotel / Boys for Pele U2 - Achtung Baby Beck - Sea Change Depeche Mode - Songs of Faith & Devotion Joni Mitchell - Blue Bjork - Vespertine Charles Mingus - The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady / Mingus Ah Um R.E.M. - Monster Tricky - Maxinquaye Portishead - Portishead Radiohead - OK Computer / Kid A / Amnesiac Eurythmics - Savage Prince - Sign o The Times / The Rainbow Children / The Truth / Parade Emiliana Torrini - Fisherman's Woman New Order - Technique Chad van Gaalen - Infiniheart The Future Sound of London - Dead Cities The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness (+ all bsides) Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man - Out of Season Roísín Murphy - Ruby Blue Miles Davis - In a Silent Way/ Filles de Kilimanjaro / Nefertiti / Smiles Sorcerer/ E.S.P. / Kind of Blue / Bitches Brew / Agharta / Pangaea [Edited 3/19/06 7:10am] and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

You're one of the few that appreciate that album as much as I do. I think for most, it's at the bottom of the Sade pile, but for me, it's by far my favorite of hers. It almost has a sacred place in my musical collection.

I have way way way too many to list.
But I think with my favorite artists I tend to be a little enthusiastic about what I deem a perfect, 5 star album.

Here's mine http://www.myspace.com/craigssoapbox I am shocked that you listed The Roses' Second Coming and not the debut! I definately love The Second COming, but I think you are the first person I've seen rate it higher than the debut! Bold choice!

Bold choice! [/quote] Yeah...I always defend that album, its under valued I think. I wasnt a fan when their first album came round but my friend use 2 play 2nd coming all the time and I grew 2 love it. I think its 1 of the best guitar albums ever, squire just solos all the way through it. I seen Squire play with the Seahorses supporting u2, he was out his face, eyes rolling back into his head but he played so well. Just wish they would re-form!

This probably could be pruned a little, but I guess I'll leave it as is. Obviously there are a few personal idiosyncrasies on display here. The Fall probably isn’t a five-star band in anyone else's head, barring a few thousand oddballs like me scattered across the globe.

I didn't include any "Best of" albums, 'cause that's sort of cheating.
Everything But the Girl: Walking Wounded George Michael: Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 Prince: Dirty Mind, Lovesexy, Parade, The Black Album Sam Cooke: Night Beat JJ Fad: Supersonic Beastie Boys: License to Ill Snoop Dogg: Doggystyle Tony Toni Tone: Sons of Soul Mary J. Blige: My Life John Coltrane: A Love Supreme The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
