What I actually listen to the most lately is "Songs For Rainy Nights, Blackouts And Melancholy Weekends." Love it all. But that little jewel aside, Plantation Lullabies is my fav. nod

I love MeShell.

No faves, just preferences.
Comfort Woman and Bitter. Then Peace Beyond Passion.
Get 'em all. None will disapoint.
But right now, and has been for awhile, it's Comfort Woman.

Her best album IMO is Peace Beyond Passion. All others are good and unique in their own way.

There are songs she performed here in Detroit when I saw her on the Comfort Woman tour that I have not been able 2 find anywhere on her cds. Are there outtakes of her's circulating? What about dvd performances? Videos or interviews? Anyone with any info, please pm me. All help is appreciated. Peace!!

My favorite of hers is definitely Plantation Lullabies. I dug this one out and listened to it again only a week or so ago -- one of my favorite albums EVER.

Cookie. I was SO pleasantly surprised.. when I heard the direction the album was going in, I thought, she needs to get Gil Scott-Heron on this album and then it would be complete. Granted, she only sampled him, but she did get him on there and my heaven was complete. smile

All of her albums are amazing in different ways - each is a different genre: first hip-hop, then R&B, then soul, then funk, reggae and finally jazz. I haven't listened to the spirit music jamal... so much yet, but I will.
