I had a really funny experience today...while going through some old vinyls i have not heard in AGES !!! I came across a few NEW EDITION albums...I was really shocked by how much i enjoyed hearing those tunes again...CANDY GIRL, IS THIS THE END,MR TELEPHONE MAN, COOL IT NOW. ...I had a flood of memories about the early 80's...visions of RIGHT ON..BLACK BEAT and ROCK AND SOUL Magazines with Michael jackson,prince,new edition,debarge,shelia e, & rockwell on the covers monthly..and even NYC CITY HOT TRACKS on friday nights before mtv got some soul in circulation ...(people that were there know what im talking bout) ...It was a nice little trip back...

It's funny because "Candy Girl" is an admitted and obvious blatant rip-off of "ABC."

Seriously, New Edition were the only group I listened to for about 3 years in the 80s. I remember chilling to the tapes for New Edition and All for Love on trips to Disney World. It was about a 2 hour trip and I needed something to drown out my mom's country music!
